Anyway,, everyone agrees that Italy is a real contender but their real challenge remains in the front line department and how they will solve this.

Yeah both have been below their usual standards. But Chiesa had a hand for both goals (getting a corner for the first and penalty for the second). That goal from Belgium though started by his poor corner.

I dont necessarily agree Immobile is a big problem for Italy, they did win the euros with this setup. imo a trio like Neymar-Suarez-Messi rarely works, more often than not you find out that there is only one ball and great forwards often dont make great partnerships.

Look at how much less dangerous France became with Mbappe-Benz-Griez instead of Mbappe-Giroud-Griez three years earlier. Maybe if you replaced Immobile with a great CF like Kane or Lukaku Italy would become as predictable as England and Belgium or itd be simply a bad fit like it was for France

It has to do with Griezmann declining as well, they would obviously win the WC in 2018 with Benz instead of Giroud as well. Benz is like the perfect team player, Mbappe couldn't ask for a better partner. They should drop Griezmann and play with more mids and wide players
