I wonder what the interview questions are like when hiring these coaches.

"Yes, I like to play as many #9s as possible. Hopefully 4 or 5 at a time. I also don't want them to move at all. If they occupy the exact same space, that's even better. I also hate players with technique and I will gladly leave them all on the bench. My method of football has been successful 35 years ago and history always repeats itself. Thanks"

"Hired"
Like a certain coach that play mandzukic and higuain weekly? :D

Not just the formation and starting lineup. The players just look scared and clueless out there. This team doesn’t have an identity and there isn’t any cohesion between these players at all. Such a huge difference as opposed to last years Euros. They aren’t playing for this clown Ventura and haven’t for some time either. I’m with IliveforJews and Seven, a simple change in manager before the next game (which would never happen of course) would work wonders.

It makes me sick to imagine a world cup without Italy

Please just play a fucking 4 3 3

What kind of moron insists with playing two fucking number 9s? Not even technically gifted 9s.

Its baffling, I honestly think I'd do a better job as coach.
The team has no creativity, the two most creative players were on the bench.

Absolutely
I'd sack him even if we pass.

Espn guys were saying how limited italy gameplay was. No one was carrying the ball on the middle of the park. No ideas.

Just thowing balls to wingers for them to cross and pray something happened

Their #9 plays for Al Ain, they brought on one guy who plays for Seattle Sounders and another who plays in Belgium. Their goalscorer plays for AEK Athens. It is mediocrity throughout with one or two elements of quality.

Just being blunt I'm not trying to shit on Sweden because they do well - precisely my point about a collective rather than the possession and hope approach of Italy.

I was being sarcastic, he was genuinely hit in the face even if it was not deliberately dangerous. Well, if you jump with arms these days then there is always a chance a ref will punish you, Italy were desperate later on and tried to play on that but the jeers Bonucci got were pretty laughable. You could see him still holding his nose late into the first half.
Thelin doesn't just play in Belgium. He plays for a shit Belgian team.

Looking at the players of the two teams, there can be no excuses for Italy.
