Cassano doesn't have the legs to play from minute 1. Start

"...................diNatale
.......Giovinco........... balotelli
With derossi, pirlo, and Marchisio in the middle

I was just watching the rerun of last night's match and I have to say that gli Azzurri were denied two goal-scoring opportunities with two incorrect offside calls. One in each half and both calls were against Maggio.

EDIT: And there was another close offside call on Di Natale in 88'. Looked onside to me. :wth:

People, please

3-5-2 was holding spain, and totally domminating kroatia for 1 half

The problem is prandelli's disgusting subs

after a great first half and a weldeserved lead, the team was tired and losing controll of the game

prandelli should have subbed motta off, and nocerino in, to keep the midfield

to leave balotelli on, who was doing massive work up front

bring in giovinco 30 minutes sooner, cause cassano was dying

instead, di natale and montypussy were brought in, taking away all the recuperation we had

I was watching the game Vs Kroatia with a friend of mine who is German. And as he got kinda drunk and high he was saying that Italy won vs Germany in 2006 because italians have smaller diick and they could run faster.

Some of you guys are exaggerating. I think Balotelli and Cassano are way better than the Di Natale and Giovinco duo. Balotelli and Cassano spread the defence thin IMO and allow Italy to take shots from around the box. It's mistakes like Marchisio's, chances not taken, which are ultimately letting Italy down.

I still think Italy have a probable chance of making it through. They play Ireland whereas Croatia and Spain are going at it. If Croatia and Spain can beat Ireland 3-1 and 4-0, Italy better be able to beat them. And if they're able to beat them by a 3 goal margin, we're in no matter what.

But I doubt that Croatia and Spain will play for the draw, one team is going to win, none of the teams are safe and both teams are trying to fight for the first spot in the group.

Italy still have a chance, all they need to worry about is beating Ireland.

I'd say use the same formation, and same players. Just finish your God damn chances Italy...

Is this true?

RE: Dominating Croatia... lol they were sitting back until we scored. After that, they came out to play.

Also, did DiNatale actually touch the ball? my stream was choppy.
I don't see why not.

Croatia beat Ireland 3-1 and tied us 1-1. They're goal difference right now is +2. If they tie against Spain their goal difference is still +2 and will end with 5pts.

Italy has tied both Spain and Ireland 1-1, which means their goal difference is 0. If we beat Ireland by a 3 goal margin our G.D. is +3 and we end with 5pts.

Thus this puts us through to the next round over Croatia.

first of all, I dont expect the game vs Ireland to be easy - Trap has a way of just screwing us over. we need barza back so that DDR moves into midfield. I am OK with replacing giacc with Balzaretti, Giacc had a very mediocre game and Balza's better defensively; the former offered almost nothing in offense anyway. Cassano I thought was brilliant but clearly in terms of fitness. and fuck balotelli, he just seems lazy to me, any other striker that had cassano's movements and assists would surely convert at least one, balo is always too late to the ball or holding on to it for so long or some shit like that. disappointed with toto, Gio showed a flash of brilliance but otherwise quiet then again Italy was slowing down in the second half. why the fuck was montolivo subbed in, always been a useless player.

Na just looked. If 3 teams on 5 points, the criteria of goals scored in head to heads is looked at before goal difference. So 2-2 puts them above.
Oh my bad. I was under the impression it went to goal differences.

How does a 2-2 put them ahead of us though?

Anyways, a 2-2 is so unlikely IMO. There will be a winner.

I even don't want to think about possible Croatia Spain draw. They have equal amount of points, and it will be humiliating for Spain to finish group head to head with Croatia ! I hope they won't be like a pussies and fuck this croatians, because if they won't, they could be officially despised !!!!!

Cassano is the best foward by far for Azzurri.
Ouch. That must be one exceptionally crappy bunch of forwards, then.

:D

That was said when Denmark played Sweden in 2004 also :D
But this time it's different, because...euhm...I've got nothing. I even kinda hope it happens.

Has anyone figured out yet why Giaccherini was not only called up (as if that in itself is not mind boggling enough) but is now also a starter in a position that does not suit him in the slightest?

Regardless of a dead Marchisio in the middle, a rookie mistake by Chiellini, a miracle save by Pletikosa, an underwhelming Maggio & countless other things; with a halfway decent attacking threat, Italy would have clinched it.
