I highlight the players i laugh about cos I can't believe they are in the ITalian squad and feel sorry for pepe that he didn't got a called up.
he deserved it more then diamanti. (all though other position).
Pepe could be used in a 4-3-3 but the fact that he is not called makes me believe the 4-3-1-2 is the formation we 'll see Italy play at the Euros. A tough call will be in attack - who to pick!? Will out-of-form Cassano make it?

the team actually looks great on papar. They have a great mix of youth, and veteran experience on all 3 lines, defense, midfield and attack. If they play open and an attacking and short passing style they could go really far. The best part about it is that most of these guys will be in their prime for 2014 in Brazil. Im very interested to see how the Spain game turns out, I think eventhough its the 1st game it could be a make it or break it, if they beat Spain they will have all the confidence in the world to go far, if not it could put them in a tail spin.

I think Italy will have a good tournament, and they'll play good, attacking football. I also feel like they will have a couple of really close games.

My final four would Germany, Holland, Portugal and Italy. England and France are dark horses.

So you're laughing at a team that, overall, has better goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders than Netherlands?
I don't compare Holland and Italy here.
That is what you do.
I just compare Italy now a days and Italy in the past and that is why I laugh.
and many players of the dutch squad you don't even know so how can you compare them
or are you telling me that you know strootman, willems, vlaar etc.? I don't think you ever saw them play.

Pirlo on his own is better than your entire midfield ;)

I can say the same about the current Dutch team...in fact, the team of 98, 2000 and 2004 >>>>>>> this team IMO. See its easy to make generalisations, no?

I have seen Strootman and Vlaar play. Good players yes, but no world beaters. The same can be said of some players in the Italian team as well.

 Don't overdo it now Bro, Pirlo is World class but so is Sneijder. Tho Pirlo got alot more experience and class.
vBommel& de Jong? Or you wanna say that DDR&Nocerino are better DM's then them?
You know our midfield contains 5 players right? ;) Since we play 4-2-3-1.

2004 dutch team wasn't that great either
don't forget our dutch team has a great team spirit and that is which took us to the final of the wc last year. Ofcourse in 1998 and 2000 we had a better team on paper. But this current team is pretty good together. And fits each other perfectly, which took us to the world cup final and we almost won it.

and our starting eleven hasn't change a lot only van bronkhorst is replaced with willems (I hope, all though it probably will be schaars) and affelay for Kuyt.
Which is a huge upgrade. I am not scared for this Italy team at all to be honest. I think France, Germany can hurt Holland more

 Pirlo is the only one who is better and why do you compare 1 of the 2 dm's with Marchisio?
Subjective, but really, MVB over De Rossi. Negro please.

I'm interested in seeing Diamanti. He's the joker in the pack, the maverick who can shine in a tournament situation given the chance. But Italy already have Balotelli and Cassano centre stage, so I don't expect to see him often.

Individually perhaps, but collectively as a unit, Holland has been a much better team than Italy over the past few years without a doubt.

Also, i would say it is hugely debatable that Italy have a better midfield. Pirlo is great, when on form, but the rest aren't world beaters by any stretch. De Rossi has not been the world class midfielder he was 3-4 years ago for sometime, so he's riding only on reputation nowadays. Sneider is much better than any attacking CM Italy has to offer, be it Marchisio, Montolivo or anyone else.
