Carlos looked helpless :D Remember how at times he just looked nonchalant & totally disinterested only to switch into high gear & tear apart the Brazilians? They didn't know what hit them. Man I miss his self assuredness, calmness, ball control & the magic.

Giac is probably our only real AM unfortunately. Italy never produce that kind of player (like Nedved). A mid who works hard and can dribble forward. Only Totti for a couple years before he stopped running.

Why did you highlight players that have nothing to do with Pepe's position. Especially Abate and Ogbonna.

Pepe is a RM/RW, to play him as a AM would be stupid when we have Montolivo, who's position is actually his.

The system and formation just didn't require Pepe, that's why he wasn't called up. Giaccherini on the other hand can play as a CM which is why I believe he was called up. He can play better as a CM than Pepe.

I highlight the players i laugh about cos I can't believe they are in the ITalian squad and feel sorry for pepe that he didn't got a called up.
he deserved it more then diamanti. (all though other position).

It suprises me Diamanti remained in the squad, but its nice he did, him > Pepe. But yeah as Joe already said, Pepe wasnt called because he doesnt fit into the coachs tactics, its no small insignifcant matter.
