Our midfield is jam-packed with talent. I don't see the point in signing either of these players. Neither would be good choice for CAM, and neither would improve our midfield 3 of Vidal-Marchisio-Pogba. We have plenty of subs for the position as well in Pereyra, Sturaro, and even Asamoah.

For 20+ mil I'd much rather spend it on a CAM.
Oh I agree. I wouldn't focus on either one. But if we are desperate to sign a player for that position I think Nainggolan would be a far more logical choice.

:agree:

Even if Pirlo leaves (and if it doesn't happen this year it most certainly will next season), we got Marchisio, Vidal, Pogba, Pereyra, Sturaro, Padoin, maybe Romulo, Asamoah (though his main position will probably be LB) to play CM.

    Dybala,Witsel,Neto.

Pereyra will be redeemed and Rugani has already been done so.

Thats nearly a ~65-70m mercato.I think we'd be done with the mercato if we achieve these targets unless we sell Pogba in the summer.

That'd be an underwhelming mercato. I'd love Dybala here, but Witsel and Neto don't add any quality to our side and on top of that Witsel comes with a hefty price tag. Do not want.

It seems realistic though, I agree. I just hope we are on the market for a fullback.

i would not mind a new AM instead. No point in getting more CM's, especially with Sturaro arriving and Asamoah getting back from injury since Evra is our new LB anyway.

Its not that i want us to sign Witsel. Its been mentioned before that he is one of Allegri's favorites which is probably why we are trying to sign him in the first place.
As for Neto,he's coming for free and will take Storari's spot. He's a mediocre GK but a decent 2nd choice option i guess.

    Juve need €20m for Witsel
    By Football Italia staff

Belgium international Axel Witsel is again being linked with Juventus, though Zenit are asking for €20m.

The midfielder’s father confirmed in recent weeks that “Juventus are an option” when he pushes for a departure from St Petersburg this summer.

According to Tuttosport newspaper, Zenit have no intention of releasing him for less than €20m.

While in the past Witsel was considered a replacement for Paul Pogba, reaching the Champions League Final changes Juve’s ambitions and market strategy.

They are now able to hold on to Pogba, plus reinforce with Witsel, Palermo forward Paulo Dybala and maybe even PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

As well as the €100m earned by playing the Final against Barcelona in Berlin, the Bianconeri aim to raise another €10m by selling Fernando Llorente to Sevilla or Liverpool.

Witsel for 20M is not a bad deal, and i wouldnt mind if Marotta would do it. but since we can get Allan for 2+12M, which is better than any deal we can make for Nainggolan or Witsel, we should definitely prioritize that and try to get it done as soon as possible.

also, if this is some "Marotta prefers Allan (loan, smaller fee and salary, silimar quality), Allegri prefers Witsel (needs a player of his characteristics for tactical reasons)" scenario, and both Marotta and Allegri think we are fine at fullbacks and dont need to sign any (which would mean Asamoah isnt seen as a CM, and we would be a CM short), then maybe we can even get both.

on the other hand, maybe they arent even alternatives to each other. we already stroke a deal for Allan, why not finish it? we might wait to see if Pirlo stays or leaves before making it official and Witsel could be a signing we want to make regardless of if Pirlo leaves or not. what if Allegri wants to use Witsel as an AM behind the strikers for that extra creativity (thats the only plus he has over Allan tbh + Max already said he likes Pereyra better off the bench in important games, and it could also free Vidal to play as a b2b) in some games, and he could also replace any of our other 3 CMs when they need rest... im thinking all this because i dont know why we would preffer a 20M Witsel (which is still a decent price for a player of his qualities) over a 2+12M Allan (which is a steal really, IF these numbers are even true), and that we already have an agreement with both Allan and his agent AND Udinese, yet we still dont want to finalize the deal. are we waiting to see if Witsel is coming, or are we waiting to see if Pirlo is leaving, to then sign Allan?

in the end, i would definitely preffer Allan over Witsel and if we get Allan instead, we could maybe afford a pair of fullbacks even (or just one, which would still be good). its gonna be an intersting summer
