We'll see what happens but for some reason I can't see us signing a player like Witsel, especially when it comes to replacing Pogba/Vidal.

I see it as unlikely, because I don't see the benefit for either party involved. Witsel wants to play for a club as big as Juventus and it's possible he has the quality to do so. Our midfield however is not only packed with quality but also consists of players who are runners, tacklers and general gogetters. All of which Witsel is not. The only midfielder we have that is different from that is Pirlo and Pirlo is obviously of another category entirely. We'd basically add a midfielder to our roster who would look out of place and slow in our team.

Frankly Nainggolan would suit us perfectly, but the mohawk and his attitude mean he's a Roma player.

    Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel admits 'there have been discussions’ with Juventus as he seeks 'a top club in a top league’.
    The Turin giants have been heavily linked with the Belgian international, and the 26-year-old has confirmed Bianconeri interest.
    “I’m 26, the best age to try a new experience,” Witsel explained to Sudinfo.
    “I’ve always said that I didn’t want to leave Zenit without lifting the league title, and that’s done.
    “My favourite league? I don’t have one, my goal is to move to a top club in a top league.

    “Juventus? There have been discussions, and they’re ongoing. They’re a fantastic team with a great project, to become again what they were in the days of [Zinedine] Zidane and [Pavel] Nedved.

    He's mostly playing DM for Zenit all 3 past seasons.
    He was playing DM at the WC too.

    He used to play more attacking CM in his days with Benfica.

    Pogba, Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo, Khedira, and probably Asamoah.

    He's a CM that likes to infiltrate, and a worse AM then Dybala or Pereyra

    The quote might be new but Witsel's knowledge might be old. His agent may have told him about Juventus contacting him but I doubt Witsel himself knows when it happened or what is going on with it now. Football players rarely know more than agents tell them.
