Who is the one who came in studs forward, THAT is the key factor here. Not a hard but fair tackle. Enough said.
It was nowhere near fair. It was hard and dangerous. Witsel came in studs forward, which was a foul, but Wasilewski broke his leg because of his own damn fault.

People are never able to distinguish between the consequences and the cause. It was the same with Nainggolan's tackle. The other guy should have been sent off in all fairness.

We have arguably the best, deepest midfield in Europe when talking about CMs

So he might be decent, but why on earth would we spend big money on a decent CM when our 2 first choice full backs for example are at a combined average age of like 32. Money needs to be used elsewhere.
Agree with this, we don't need him.
Just not agree with some here that say he is a bad player.

If you look back at the images, you will see that Witsel comes in from above, with the studs down, direction leg of Wasyl, clearly no intention to play the ball.

From second 40 onwards makes that very clear.

You also see that Witsel holds his arms up in the air as if to protect himself. Witsel was scared going into that challenge. Precisely because it was Wasilewski and precisely because Wasilewski was coming in at a tremendous speed. If you look at the physics of it all the only reason Wasilewski could break his leg was because of the force he himself generated.

I'm not saying Witsel didn't commit a foul. But I am saying that Wasilewski is at least 50% responsible.

We'll never know, the arms in the air can also be to be able to put more force on the impact.
Anyway, as I said before, it has been so long ago, Wasyl has since then won titles with Anderlecht and been a starting player for Leicester in the competition he has been dreaming of so although it was a terrible situation, it is also time that people quit talking about Witsel as if this has been the only thing the guy has ever done in his football career

That is some of the biggest bullshit I ever heard. Wasyl came in hard as he always did, but not studs forward, Witsel came in Totti style looking like the ass he is.

Besides seldom losing possession there's little he stands out in. Quality wise we need someone else.

Not likely. He also looks away from Wasyl.

TS say we wont go above 25m for Witsel and if the Russians dont budge,we'll try to sign Nainggolan apparently.(This seems farfetched tho tbh)

    You are disgusting

Though I am far from his biggest fan, Witsel is ridiculously underrated on this forum. Do people actually believe that first Benfica and then Zenith would pay mad money for a player who is worth nothing?
    No, offcourse not.

Thing is, our starters are all much better, and we cant afford a 25mil bench player

We shouldn't go over 20m for him tbh. We're stacked in midfield and there are better AM options out there.

    Darmian + De Sciglio
And you think Darmian + De Sciglio will somehow come for cheap ? Both are going to cost a combiend sum of atleast 35-40m

Of all the belgian golden generation of talents to go for, its sad if this our choice, not only for the position but also how overvalued he is compared to what his output is.
