Well, yes. When Ale left nobody wanted it because of the pressure, so the club was thinking about giving to either Marchisio or Giovinco, but then Tevez came and donned it.
Giovinco was never going to get it. Marchisio rejected it and the club according to Tevez, gave him the number 10. The number didnt have to be assigned to anyone and while you are right pogba wanted it, I assume the club had a large say in it.

The club gave Pogba their blessing after he asked to wear the 10, because they want to build around him. Obviously trying to make him feel at the centre of the project, and entice him to stay.

I don't think he'll be leaving after the Euros (and I was pretty sure he would be leaving, before he was allowed to wear 10), guess we'll see how things play out.

If Guardiola signs for City, things are going to get interesting.Pogba might want to play for them especially if they tempt him with a mega million pound wage offer.

Pogba leaving depends entirely upon how well we do this year. If we put in a respectable showing against Bayern, or even beat them, win the Scudetto and/or Coppa Italia, I see him staying for another year. If we get smashed by Bayern, don't win any trophies, it's much more likely he leaves... and if we don't qualify for next year's CL, well, he's as good as gone.

I doubt we'd give Pogba the #10 only to cash in on him the following year.

It piss me off so much to see my club every year selling ours best players seriously man ! Are we a little club ?! and do we want to win the CL in the next years ?

This summer pissed me off already enough with Vidal and Tevez , but what ever it was acceptable , and whats going to happen next summer ? Pogba will certainly leave, as Morata will too. What about summer 2017? Dybala? Yes probably.

We can recruit Gundogan , Kroos or anyfuck we want if we always sell ours players we Will Never progress!!

And please dont say we dont have money , we are not City/PSG or Real Madrid but we have some money too..

I dont like our players politics..

Whether Pogba leaves or stays isn't in our hands. We obviously want him to stay. The mgmt doesn't want to cash in on him.

We gave Pogba #10 for three reasons:

- It's a big deal, an honor in fact, and the mgmt gave it to him to decrease the chances of him leaving next summer
- It's good for marketing purposes
- He asked for it
