If Guardiola signs for City, things are going to get interesting.Pogba might want to play for them especially if they tempt him with a mega million pound wage offer.
For some reason, I don't really think City will be his future destination -- whether they get Pep, or not. He's had the Manchester experience already, I really think if he goes it'll be to Spain. City has the most cash, but not a whole lot in terms of historic allure. Not a team that's had a great deal of European success (understatement), and I think that's what he'll be after if he does go.
Pogba leaving depends entirely upon how well we do this year. If we put in a respectable showing against Bayern, or even beat them, win the Scudetto and/or Coppa Italia, I see him staying for another year. If we get smashed by Bayern, don't win any trophies, it's much more likely he leaves... and if we don't qualify for next year's CL, well, he's as good as gone.
Hard to say, but I suppose how well we do may be a factor, as is how well he plays (because that will obviously influence $ offer, and he's under contract until 2019).
I just think that he understands he's still very young, and there will still be some bumps ahead (he certainly hasn't had the start/season that he expected to have at this point, imo). He's in a great place to develop right now, which I believe he knows.
I also think with his new leadership role (and that's what he has, I think he's still played the most minutes, and is rocking the coveted 10), I don't think he'd want to leave the club/fans while we're in a bad position. But maybe that is wishful thinking...
I've got a good feeling about his staying. It's impossible to really have any grasp on his intentions but everything you see on the telly or social-media suggests a tight knit group of blokes. Yeah it is just the media but I've seen what players that want to leave look like. Looks like Morata wants to stay which is telling about the atmosphere at the club. The thought of growing with young stars like Dybala, Morata, Rugani and Alex-Sandro and becoming a leader would be enticing. They are all going to be top, top players. If we can keep winning trophies and give the impression of improvement in Europe, while increasing his wages year on year then I don't see why other big clubs are such a better option for him, apart from doubling his wages of course.
But when you're earning 5-8M euros a season and you pay for bugger all in your life apart from cars and clothes, what is 12-15M in relative terms? If he left for more wages in those aforementioned circumstances he'd be a complete goose to do so. The main thing is to keep contending for the CL, that's what players go to Barca for.
Absolutely, Nenna. He does look happy to me right now, and Juve can still bump his salary a bit. I also love that list of yours, we truly have a bounty of top class young players.
It does look like a tight knit group, a great group of guys who have a lot of fun together. As you've pointed out above, there is still so much room for improvement amongst the current group, too -- and if Beppe can get 2-3 key pieces this summer, particularly a class TQ, a SS, another CM who can spell Marchisio, our team has the potential to be pretty spectacular. A consistent force on the European scene.
There would certainly be lots of quality, depth, and tactical flexibility for Allegri to have fun with.
Also completely agree with that last line, as I mentioned above to Cuspy. I don't see this guy leaving just for dollar bills, because his earning potential over the course of a long career is filthy high, considering endorsement deals -- at any big club, really. But Pogba seems to care about the history of the game, he wants to be one of the greats of all time -- and certainly one of Juventus' all-time French greats -- which he certainly isn't yet. I think he's going to be with us for at least a couple more years, but who knows.
