“I chose Juve in 2011 for myself and for my family, now I’m ready, and I have the experience it takes to play at a club like Bayern."

I don't understand how any Juventus fan could defend such comment, disgusting to say the least, even Lazio and Milan fans would find such comments unacceptable from a former player.

P.S: Bayern being the bigger club NOW change nothing, we both belong to the same elite group of clubs.
Exactly.

82-85 Platini was a step above that tbh.

Never has a player been so incredibly domminating the game as he did during those years. Juventus was Platini.
:agree:

I wish I had been alive to watch it!

You think Bayern is overall (not talking about now, I have already acknowledged they are a bigger club now) a bigger and more prestigious club than Juventus?
Not in the slightest. Currently, their economic power places them a step above us, but just one step. It's not like they're country miles ahead of us. They won a CL 3 years ago. We played in a final. We each pretty much dominate similar strength leagues.

The separation right now is entirely in terms of economic power.

As far as history and prestige goes, Juventus was bigger club than Bayern until Calciopoli happened, and by a clear step... Now, in terms of history and prestige, probably on the same level.

I would say historically we are on the same level as Liverpool, and I would totally understand if a Liverpool fan find it bizarre to consider us a bigger club.

I have made a comment yesterday that for Reus we are not an upgrade over Dortmund and you have agreed with me, I wasn't trolling, I believe that we are currently more or less on the same level as Dortmund and Atl. Madrid but are we a bigger club overall than those two? Of course we are.

i still agree with you, history will only set you apart if you are being compared to a nouveau riche, a la man city. But history, present and outlook all point to bayern being the bigger club

Pre-calciopoli Juve was easily considered a more prestigious and attractive club than Bayern. Bayern had won more CL trophies, but we'd actually played in more CL finals, and won more UEFA trophies overall.

Historically speaking Juve, Bayern, Liverpool, Barca, Milan, etc are all on the same level. The first tier below Real Madrid.
