I mean those who argue that it was a great idea to sell him as he's been "subpar", "average", "injury prone", whatever.

- - - Updated - - -

We shouldn't freak out about him leaving, but the fact is that had someone asked whether we would approve of selling Vidal for 37 million a month ago, no one would have said yes (bar one or two trolls/nutjobs).

Now, we got half of the forum defending the transfer.
I think this is due to half the people on the forum lambasting the transfer, and using it to call Marotta an incompetent twit, our club a second-tier selling club, and our future doom and gloom. For every action--->equal and opposite reaction. That kind of thing.

It's idiotic from both sides. People just need to relax and wait for the season to begin to see how this much younger and different Juve looks. We've lost some wonderful players but also made some very good signings. Who knows what the end result of this is. I'm quite excited to see this new look Juve, hopefully with a good CAM signed as well in the next month.

if there are some clubs who want pay him more than what bayern do , why there do not come and outbid bayern's offer?
i also rate vidal same as like you.
but potential buyer do not know who vidal is.
that is problem.

i do not praise them like jesus. but i simply do not understand why people still complain to marotta and paratici after what they did.

Ogbonna? Isla?
of course it was bad transfer.
but, is it that bad?

we sold ogbonna for 12 million after being our back up for 2 years. imagine there were no ogbonna when barzagli and caceres injured
Isla has show that he is good player when he play for chile.
is it that bad?
anything else? you want to counter me with martinez and motta?

fyi, moggi bought di vaio for 26 million and salas for 25 million.
that was more way way way stupid than ogbonna/isla transfer.

but, people never hate moggi like people hate toward marotta.

when discuss about moggi, people related moggi with zidane, nedved, buffon etc.
but, when we discuss about marotta, people related him with martinez, motta, ogbonna, isla etc.
or people would talk about his inability to land big player.

is that fair?
that is my concern.
people are not fair with marotta.

Gotta say that I haven't been around the last few days, hence got no idea what was cause and effect, but that's not how things usually work around here :D

You're right though of course, there's always the other, equally overracting side as well.

He is one of my favorite players, i even watched some games of Chile because of him (god, how i hate sampaoli for abusing of his physical condition, fuck me i even celebrated when he scored against my national team). I hoped that today Marotta would say that Vidal is our player and he would stay with us (yeah i know silly me) but that didn't happen.
I can only wish him the best, a player like him are very odd to find, a true warrior who gives everything of him whenever he enters the field. One of my favorite moments was when he scored the first goal for us against chelsea in london, he was injured but that didn't matter to him.

Thanks for everything Arturo.

Something i'm wondering is, 33 year old vidal on high wages

Could he play at still high level, at that age, considering how his physical ability influences his game, considering his knee injury ?

Could have played a factor. I havent read about vidal wanting to extend to 5 years tho.

Well extending his contract would have been the best option if we don't sell him. On an economic point of view. We could still cash in and account a hugh profit next year for example. I guess it came down to us making an economic choice take that profit and don't extend so we don't have a 33 year old Vidal on 5.5 mil or so. And why would Vidal run the risk not getting a last big contract for a major team ? He saw his chance and took it

That quote is certainly different than what Salvo said. Based on that quote it's pretty ambiguous if Vidal asked to leave or if we suggested to sell him. It just seems difficult to grasp why we'd suddenly sell him, and for a bad price, if he didn't ask to be sold. It makes no sense if he didn't.
i think he wanted an extension, and bayern were willing to give him that, we prolly saw an opportunity to pry gotze off their hands, but still im sure we are missing a lot of the details, im just against the suggestion that vidal WANTED to leave out of nowhere.

Who says it was out of nowhere though? He could have told us that he wanted to leave in case Bayern, Real or Barcelona became interested.

Or he wanted to leave when he heard about Bayern's interest.

I dont think he wanted to leave out of nowhere. I think bayern came with a good offer, and we didnt want to give him a big extention.

That's it.

But if we decided to sell him, why not hold it and make it an auction then?

The only reason I can think about is if Vidal said only Bayern, or if Marotta just wants to run this fast so he can get the AM and move forward.

But as long as there's no info on this part that Vidal wanted only Bayern, I will assume he was open to offers from other teams as well. I don't see why would he only go to Bayern.

I recall some peasants saying that, but wasent that only about his offensive game.
He started average and "a step to slow at everything" following the recovery of his knee, but gradually got his entire defensive game back on point. Wich quite honestly is plenty enough allready for me cause he's unique in that regard.
He didnt had his offensive game back no, wastefull. Peasants only see the offensive game i suppose

Vidal defensively was a monster from march/april on
Today, today he was called abysmal only to defend Marotta selling him. Two weeks ago, the same person called him a monster.
