So, I guess its just a coincidence that the "news" about Arturo wanting the #10 shirt came out a day after Jovetic said "I want Juventus" and "I gave my all to Fiorentina, but Antonio Conte could help me grow at Juventus” and "Juve have been after me for a year. They say they want me and that in their list I come above Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain. Who wouldn’t be flattered by that? I am and I don’t think it is a betrayal to admit that...". And if my memory serves me right, it was last week when it was reported that the club was ready to give Jo-Jo the #10 shirt if he was to accept a move to Turin... Another coincidence...

And I dont understand the fuss about who deserves to wear the #10 shirt and who doesnt. Last summer it was fine when there was a possibility the #10 shirt went to Gigi, but now its the end of the world if it goes to Vidal? wtf? We had one season without a player in the squad with a #10 on his back, and 10 is a pretty cool number, so either use it or retire it, and I think most of you agree that its stupid to retire shirt numbers, thats football, not basketball. Arturo is our own superstar, he is well known around Europe and the world, he is recognized as arguably the best player in his position, he can walk straight into every single starting 11 and be a key part of every single team`s midfield, he plays his heart out every single game for Juventus and is a fan favourite. He doesnt deserve #10? The guy deserves a #51 star in front of the stadium ffs..

Everyone loves and will always remember Del Piero.

Giving someone else the #10 won't make Del Piero anything less.

You can't be stuck in the past, or walk in someone else's shadows, Juventus has to create a new era now.

Boniperti, Sivori, Platini, Baggio, Del Piero - the legacy must go on.
I personally don't care if I get flamed for having this view, but one guy I'd love to see slot into that role is Juan Mata. He's got a lot going for him and is a multi-dimentional player, he can score and create. I've become quite the fan, though prying him from Chelsea will be no mean feat.. :/

Not sure about #10 as this number is usually connoted with more offensive players. I've watched Baggio and Alex as #10 and with all due respect to Vidal who I like very much those guys were in league of their own.

Its obvious we are not discussing that. The idea of giving him the 10 is not based around him playing like a 10.

I understand that but there is long tradition in Juventus over that number. I'm not totally opposed to that idea. Disregarding positions If anyone deserves it in this squad it's Vidal for sure. He's been driving force for the past two seasons.
