His howler led to Roma scoring, and he conceded a penalty, but he was all heart, grit, and determination. He was everywhere, chasing every ball, and was the only one in that 3 man midfield trying.

If it wasn't for his howler it would have been a completely different game. He did however set up the second goal with a smart pass to Esti. The penalty call was harsh.

^ Those sort of mistakes really, really suck. So costly but really accidental and anomalous.

The penalty, I think, was a bit soft, but he should have known better. I think he was already on a yellow on the time and to go even somewhat rashly into the box like that on a tackle you've gotta be 100% sure of what you're doing.

Still, two crucial mistakes don't somehow make the rest of a pretty good performance disappear.
He got a yellow for the penalty he gave away. Later on, he went sliding in and missed the Roma player. Luckily the ref kept the card in his pocket.

If the Ref was going to hand him a 2nd yellow then this whole match would have been fixed IMO.

Lamela commited over 7/8 fouls and yet he was given no yellow.

Massive mistakes but he somehow keeps his cool and keeps doing good things throughout the game.
He was our only working midfielder.

When he "earned" the penalty as Allegri would say, he must have been already sent off a couple times.

Surprisingly our most creative player yesterday. Set up two very good chances for Pepe and Licht. Overall it was a bad game, only due to the two big mistakes. Despite the mistakes, he gets a higher rating than his CM partners.
It was a Melo-ish performance, where a good match is nullified by a brainfart(s), so I'd call this a negative performance by Vidal, where the bad overshadowed the good.
