How do you know he wasn't saying it all year in the dressing room? And as far as I remember, Melo aknowledged that he was playing like shit season ago. Maybe our other stars should do the same this year. And don't say Melo is out because of this comment. It's only your assumption.
The point is. I would rather have 11 Melos that talk like this once in a year, than 11 Amauris/Iaquintas/Mottas that smile and talk about how good they played, but unlucky they were... after every lost game.
I'm not saying he wasn't saying it in the dressing room, but quite frankly that is the only place he should be saying it. I dont know if you've ever been part of a team, but one of the key aspects of being in a team is unity and Melo should have had his teammates backs. If I can see my colleague doing something wrong I will tell him. If he doesn't listen I will tell him again, and try to help him. One thing I will not do would be to slag him off in public, if I did that he would lose respect for me, as would his colleagues. Its a basic rule of football and it was either a stunt to get moved on, or an example of Melo's poor judgement (not the first time...)
With regards to your comment about Amauri's/Iaqs and Motta's, i think your using really poor examples playing on your dislike for the individuals. I'd rather have a team of Buffon's/Chiellini's/Del Piero's and Nedved's. These are players that take responsibility when they are in the wrong, but always defend their team mates.
