Juve offer €15m for Vidal

Juventus have reportedly leapt ahead of Napoli and Milan by offering €15m for Bayer Leverkusen star Arturo Vidal.

The Chile international midfielder scored 10 goals in the Bundesliga this season and has already been linked with several Serie A sides this summer.

Milan and Napoli confirmed negotiations, but this evening Chilean sources claim Vidal’s agents met with Juve directors.

An offer of €15m is on the table to prise him away from Bayer Leverkusen.

“We do have a Plan B around Vidal, as we are already looking for his replacement,” conceded director of sport Rudi Voller.

“We have also decided to wait on the offers that have arrived, hoping Vidal can have a great Copa America with Chile so his price-tag can rise further.”

If this report is factually correct and a bid has gone in for the figure mentioned, I am saddened that one or both of the parties involved has gone public.

For the most obvious of reasons.

Never seen this guy play.. How good is he really?..
He's good but I'm not sure how do we plan to use him. Like I said previously, it's hard to define his position on the pitch. He's tireless and can be seen everywhere on the pitch, but this year he exploded and he did so because he was given a much more advanced and free role, which didn't limit him tactically. Maybe I'm slightly wrong, but on many matches I've seen he played almost the same role Hamsik plays for Napoli, which is way too attacking.
He was Levercusen's top scorer and top assist man in Bundesliga this year (10 goals and 11 assists) and the biggest reason why Levercusen finished 2nd.

Now, I know that he can play more defensively, but I really don't see how he'd fit in a 2 men CM. He fits perfectly in a 3 men midfield with Pirlo and someone with strictly defensive duties like Lass, but I can't imagine him in a 4-4-2 or a more attacking 4-2-4.

Thanks for the info Alen

I saw others say he was some kind of box-to-box midfielder who could do some defensive duties. And by seeing what you reported I would love us to keep Melo (yeah) and play a 4-3-3 with Melo-Pirlo-Vidal , no? It should work right...

I wouldn't be surprised if he can. He's maybe the most versatile player in the world :D

Check this in Spanish: "Puede jugar como defensa central, stopper, líbero, lateral por izquierda o derecha, volante de contención, volante por izquierda o derecha, extremo, mediapunta o incluso delantero"

I don't speak Spanish but it more or less says that Vidal can play as a center back, stopper, libero, RB or LB, CM, left or right winger and striker
