Well, according to certain statistics, Bentancur is our best midfielder. Just like Arthur, he single-handedly gifted a win to the opposition because of a stupid pass. Proverbial death blows to our season. And just like Arthur, he was on the pitch during the home loss against Barca. So he did lose a game before, and just lost us another.
Arthur started that game on the bench if I'm not mistaken.

Only untouchables, irreplaceable players on this team are Woj, De Ligt and CR. And maybe Gigi and Chiellini for their status as a legend if they're happy in reserve roles.

Arhur is 'untouchable' only because no one would literally touch him. One, he is so overpayed and two, you might get ghonorrea or something.

he spent his free days in dubai. i'd preferred him to stay with the squad, but it is what it is. let's hope that at least he won't return with gonorrhoea, like he did when he left barca to attend neymar's private party

*unsellable

imagine anyone paying ~60m for him (which is ~the bare minimum to avoid minusvalenza)
:agree:

People failing to understand the difference between unsellable because we want to build the team around a player (De Ligt), and unsellable because we paid far too much for a shitty player and selling him would be a disastrous minusvalenza (Arthur).

We can do exchange... Liverpool got any underperforming CMs you wanna trade for Arthur?
Dont be silly, you’d still have to pony up about 30 mil for any of our first team midfielders

point is, it’s better to sell him now for 30 than to pay him to go to the mls in four years.

Oh for sure. We’d be better off not paying big fees for other team’s flops/underperforming players in the first place.

I’m in favour of giving him another year to show he can improve and be part of a competent midfield here. If he doesn’t improve next year, sell him for whatever we can get. He’ll still only be 25 next year.
