I doubt it, the player is very limited technically. I think he can do well against the smaller clubs that are stupid enough to play a high line though. I doubt he'll have much of an impact against top 7-8 teams in the PL.

We've been hearing about his potential for years now, he's never impressed me. He is not a better defender than De Ceglie, though he is extremely fast, so his recovery pace might give him some edge, but his overall defending, positioning, tackling etc is extremely poor. It wasn't even good enough for Portsmouth, who then got frustrated of him and shifted him to a left wing position, but even there he wasn't good enough technically.

Limited player, poor signing he will be.
Wow, you really have a very bad judgement on him.. I never see him play in Portsmouth but when he first play for Arsenal in several Carling Cup like 3 years ago, i pretty much rate him as a talented fullback..

I don't know if the reason he is loaned out to Portsmouth is because his development is stuck. I see it because there emergence of Gibbs.

If you say that his defending ability is a liability. For me, he is much like Clichy. Clichy is also a speedy LB that like to run forward but his defensive ability is such a liability. But at this time Clichy has a better match experience than Traore

Indeed his age. But De Ceglie is crap and is nothing but temporary option despite his age, and Traore is more or less the same, being young doesnt matter if you dont offer quality, so he would be temporary at best too. So might aswell get a solid option that would improve us, age doesnt matter in that case.

We'll use this thread as the official one since there are few pages when the deal is confirmed on the club's pages.
