Traore hasn't played anywhere near as many games in the top flight as De Ceglie. Partly because of his age...Its easier to judge de ceglie as there is more to judge of him on the field. Looking at this optimistically, Traore is an unknown, so he could prove decent...but looking at it objectively, it is a very strange signing given the very obvious need for proven quality in a position which has been crying out for improvement for many moons.
Whatever happens, I just hugely hope we sign someone at left back who can take de ceglie's place, because that fiend looks like Damien from The Omen, and has zero natural defensive talent. All he can do is run, and be determined. Now and then he whips in a decent cross, but given that he has no positional awareness nor timing in the tackle, he should be culled. Should have sold him this summer, but then again, who would want him????
