Pep was used to managing big clubs, afterall he came from managing one, his only experience was at a big club. I don't think it's brave, I think it's where and how your start your management career, it's the only thing he knew. You don't see him choosing a smaller club either or a club that was off form.
I don't think it's a bad thing that conte managed clubs which had come off a poor season. What's wrong with that? Some people are used to following a certain way, so it could be habitual rather than fear, if it works, why change it? If it doesn't then it's time to change or move on. He doesn't like losing, or not getting the best out of his players, we all know what his like and only uses the 'well this team was 7th' last season to relieve pressure off his players. Mourinho uses other strategies to relieve pressure off his players too. Again, I don't see anything wrong with that, it's a psychological. He will learn and improve.
He left us not when he failed but when he won (depending on how you rate CL and what the expectations were), and there was every chance he would have won a double again and with more experience get us further in CL had he stayed, subject to his personal motivation. At the end of the day he is a winner, he won with us and most likely will win a double with Chelsea too. The guy deserves respect, if not as our legend then the least as a manager.
