Yeah it's strange. It seems we don't have a different plan when we go goal down, team doesn't up the intensity, o speed change, just nothing. We go doing the same business as if it were 0-0. This time it almost worked, we almost salvaged a draw, which would have been a positive result in the end. But thinking of the long term, IMO, this won't do in the future. We can't expect to loose a goal against a top side like Chelsea, Bayern, Real, barca or any other team in CL and expect to get positive results every time without any change of plan accordingly to the situation.

To me it seems we have one plan (which works most of the times in Serie A), we go out and play our game, no matter what. The problem is that this slow game is not enough in Europe, and against top teams it's 50/50, which isn't enough if we want to win something.

I was a bit comparing yesturday us with RM, well we intercept the ball and our first pass is to look for Pirlo or a defender, who usually are behind the ball, and their second pass is to slow the tempo down, while the opponents gets back into position and then we try to move slowly forward. When RM get the ball they have one two passes and they are in the opponents half. Now everyone will say we lack the personel (which I agree), but every single time doing this is not down to personel but to a very cautious coach. That makes us very predictable and boring (not in a good way).

Apart from the coach unwillingness to mix things up and try to catch the opponents off guard, maybe it has something to do with Pirlo? He's still class and can do some wonders, but maybe he is not able to increase the tempo of the big game anymore?
Good obseravation with rm there...that exactly is the issue the counters with us are slow because our wingbacks ie asa and licht are in line with defenders in our half of the pitch so pirlo has no one to pass to other than our strikers . with real madrid , ronaldo and bale are parked on the wings in the other half of the pitch ....so its a faster transition from defense to attack for them .

it was a disappointing night for sure, conte does not seem to have a plan b and this is not just the case in europe but serie a as well...yeah we are dominating a weak serie a and what not but we have struggled multiple times against weak teams who have figured out our one dimensional attack with the same predictable plays

But those safe played corners man, specially that one in the 2nd where Pirlo tried to play it as safe as possible but still turned into a very dangerous counter for Benfica :lol2: I swear if Klopp, Simeone, Ancelotti,... were watching our game last nite, they were literally rolling on the floor laughing.

As long as he wins us scudetto, I don't have a problem regrading european result. Although I'd love to see Conte wins a champions league.

The problem with Conte is his squad is built typically to 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 formations. We have 3 box-to-box and 1 deep lying midfielder, thats all. I know conte wants pirlo as the hub between juve's defending line to front, but if we can get a ball playing defender (eg luiz, pique, ramos type) we can eliminate pirlo position to a trequartista or false nine and play more attacking 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 formation.
 :howler: Thank fuck you are not a coach. What kind of loser mentality is this?

true that..problem is we can grind it out against those small teams owing to alot of their inefficiencies eg poor finishing etc

cannot get away with that on the highest level of european football...we cannot keep going on the fumes of our past..we have to put in work

in any business if u dont try to keep stride or exceed the competition where does that leave you.eventually ur brand will wear out..in this case wont wear out but certainly wont be rising coupled with the exponential growth of your opponents brand..

is there anyone here who are currently pissed with conte thought about whether or not conte's criminalized case was the cause for all this? or was the conte we all saw during first 6-12 months he coached juve only a coincidence?

So I guess you'll probably want conte out if he won 6 scudetto in a row but failed to win a CL?

For me, seri-a is a priority. But in my next sentence I said that I'd love to see conte wins CL, which maybe you didn't read. Maybe we should hire rafa benitez next season just for the sake of playing ultra offensive football and do something on europe.

No one is asking Conte to win CL.

He is stubborn, short corners that never work, playing Bonucci despite costing us every 3 games. What does he expect from Bonucci, to score 3 own goals per game so he can drop him, or that he magically turns out to be Nesta overnight?
