I woke up and this thread had gathered insane momentum :p 9 pages over the past 24 hours?! What the fuck is going on? :D
@Bianconero81
Basically, rus wants to get rid of conte cause" he's not getting the potential out of this team", explaining us noobs how "we are better then the 1996 scudetto winning juventus". because "in 1996 we had better attackers and defenders". :sergio:

He goes on to explain he knows everything about the 90ties serie a, like for example paolo monterothe defender that never got send off .
he doesnt respond to soft and harsh threatment. its time to put him down imo.

What? Again? I already proved to him how many times Montero got sent off back in December:

So, during season 1996/97 Montero already got 2 red cards. In 1997/98 he got 1. In 1998/99 he was shown the red card three times. And so on. Maybe you overlooked something Juventino[RUS]. Take a look at MyJuve.it Statistics.

Last time, when we won CL, we had:

GK 1 Angelo Peruzzi
CB 2 Ciro Ferrara
LB 3 Gianluca Pessotto
RB 4 Moreno Torricelli '
CB 5 Pietro Vierchowod
CM 6 Paulo Sousa
LM 7 Didier Deschamps
RM 8 Antonio Conte
CF 9 Gianluca Vialli (c)
LF 10 Alessandro Del Piero
RF 11 Fabrizio Ravanelli
Substitutions:
GK 12 Michelangelo Rampulla
DF 13 Sergio Porrini
MF 14 Vladimir Jugović
MF 15 Angelo Di Livio
FW 16 Michele Padovano

Are you telling me that our team is worse now??

As for Conte - about what he was thinking year ago when he accepted renewal 'til 2015 year? if he wasn't confident that board of directors will buy him superstars?

Theres no comparison at all, actually. That team was better.

That aside, European football at that time was a very different scenario than it is today. For better or worse, oil money has filtered in, prices have inflated and any team can build overnight to compete and target the CL. Whether they manage it or not is another matter, but Juve being a club rich in tradition has to approach and counter this scenario step by step, much like how we plan to do so under the current management. First, build the foundation and then cap it off with quality. There's nothing wrong with what Conte is suggesting because the truth of the matter is, we are already behind the big guns in Europe and there's only one way to bridge the gap. Quality reinforcement.

The Juve side of the 90s is one of the greatest teams of all time, whether the 96 or 97,98 was the best one of them all, you can argue. While at a first glance, 97,98 had better individuals, they failed to win their most important match on both occasions, while 96 Juve did manage to win it and also against a much stronger opponent ( Van Gaal's Ajax ). It is not true that the CL success in 96 was luck, Juve totally outplayed Ajax in the final and could have won by 3 or 4 goals if wasn't for some shocking misses. In addition, you really can't compare Lippi with Conte , Marcelo is one of the best managers of all time, while Conte has only won two Scudettos without having much competition really.

Comparing the current Juve side with the one from the 90s is laughable, I reckon only Buffon and probably Pirlo could make it into that team . 96 Juve had Ravanelli, Del Piero and Vialli in attack, while current Juve has Matri , Qu, Giovinco and Vucinic. :D Defence was much better back then ,too. Toricelli alone is better than all our defenders combined . As for CL being easier to win in the 90s - well not really, because you had to be a domestic champion to even get a chance to participate and also there was a restriction on the number of foreigners you could field. Now any rich team can buy whoever they want and thus make a strong team artificially.

I have nothing personal against RUS, but he has been attacking Conte in a manner that's been way too harsh ever since the Bayern match. We're talking about the man who was this club's miracle-worker and savior in it's darkest hour ever, a legendary captain who has also proved himself to be a world class coach and a legend of a Juve coach already - arriving and finding one of the worst Juve squads in history and taking them to 2 league titles in a row. Of course, assisted by some good work by The Great Man and Paratici, but without Conte; none of this would've happened.

This thread should be full of worship, every single fucking day. A little criticism I can handle, but RUS downright bashes Conte every day. For no damn reason whatsoever. He's making a fool of himself while doing it, though, which is slightly comforting, but all in all it's fucking annoying.

People who don't appreciate Conte's work should remember where we were 2 years ago. He alone adds 20-30% to this team.

It really is. Half of this players wouldn't even be on a bench.
