And maybe we should start considering the unthinkable: removing Pirlo for a different type of player. Maybe not as a standard set up, but at least as a back up plan.

Conte is not dense, some very, very harsh lessons were learnt last night and no doubt he will work in the off-season to put some new ideas into place - both tactically and personnel wise.

I know why you would say so, but this hasn't been said just after Bayern's games. It was so obvious that our game plan has changed this season. People used to say this was because now we want to conserve energy for having to play in 3 competitions, unlike last season. To be honest, if we conserved energy for having such performances in Europe, we wasted our own time.

Playing a good brand of fast and possession football is not only good on the eye. It helps winning and makes the players enjoy playing their game better. Look at the teams left in the semi-finals. They all play such football.

If we had changed from 3-5-2 yesterday, it would've have backfired. Having played the same formation all season, a sudden switch would not have improved our play. But yes, a variation on Conte's formation needs to be worked on for future cases. I still think his 3-5-2 is very strong, A very good Bayern just showed it's limitations; it's pretty toothless and can be exposed when we need to force a result. The forwards get completely isolated, when our team gets countered properly. It looked like an ocean between midfield and the forward line.

In two years Bayern is the only team to have nullified our team so much. Let's keep some perspective at least.

That would require a drastic change though, as in the current set-up I fear we'd terribly miss his range from midfield. Having said that, some players may stand up and take more responsibilty instead of the built in - always look for Pirlo- type of play.

I don't think there's anything wrong with conserving energy when possible. Not at all. But you need to make sure you can switch a gear or 2 higher when required. And that's where we sometimes fail this season. Not last night though imo, that game was over since last Tuesday, unless we'd somehow have an insane amount of luck.

As for how to remove Pirlo from the team: we may already have a solution in Pogba. And that doesn't mean I expect him to play a similar role to Pirlo. Question is, do we need a pure regista at all times if we continue with 3 CB's? I don't think we do.

No matter how good Bayern are/have been in the last years it's still not an excuse for Juve or Conte to not put a fight in both legs, I saw no fight, no willing, no desire and he was pretty much mentally prepared for this exit after praising Bayern way too much and saying how big is the difference between the two teams, that's a mistake. I wasn't expecting Juve to dominate and eliminate them but I expected a good fight.

Also, I keep reading where this team was before and where this team is now, wake the fvck up 7 years had already passed on Calciopoli, it's only about time Juve start fighting for CL and stop showing satisfaction for quarter finals or 2nd rounds. Yes, Conte did brilliant last season but are you going to talk about the undefeated last season for the next 5years? Either some fan's standards have dropped or the fans that I see here have only seen Juve after Calciopoli.

Conte is the right man for the right job, that's obvious, but he has his mistakes too, when one says what his mistakes are tactically then it's pretty stupid to keep reminding her/him how Conte won last season's Scudetto. Last season was last season.

Conte made mistakes and he will make more mistakes, but he is a head coach responisble for this exit. He made the tactics, picked the players. And the 3-5-2 didn't work in munchen so why would it work suddenly in torino. Bayern outplayed is in every aspect and that is what conte need to learn now.

He is doing great but he has a long way to go to be named in the same line with mourinho and the likes.

I agree the tie ended up beign very dissapointing, I also agree Conte is not infallible or incapable of making mistakes. We came up short yesterday, but the game, and Conte most of all realised this, was over after thirty seconds into the first tie. The current game is not well equiped to come back into a game. That was the trade-off of switching from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2 last season(let's be honest, once we switched it was definite; we only switched back maybe twice max.). Conte chose for security and solidity of the 3-5-2 over the more explosive but more open and random 4-3-3.

it wouldn't have mattered whether or not we played 4-3-3 or whatever against bayern either way we were outclassed by a team of sheer quality throughout and i don't see how that is Conte's fault. you can't expect to build a CL winning team in 18 months, especially coming from 7th place twice. It's a shame that people seem more concerned with Conte's inabilities and would be happy to see him gone.
