I concede there's two sides to it. On the upside it illustrates his winners mentality and could give the team a much needed kick. On the downside its ridiculous behaviour, which can just as easily have a detrimental effect. As is the case in it rubbing off on the players and resulting in suspensions.

I simply don't understand why Conte is being so incredibly stubborn to change his tactics this season. Last season we were one of the most versatile squads when it came to using different tactics, but this year Conte keeps sticking to his holy 3-5-2 system even though it has failed the entire month. It's not that hard to see or understand that without key players like asamoah and chiellini the system is bound to fail. Conte's inability to mix things up and anticipate during matches this season has been costing us points and conceding goals..

The tactical versatility of last season is a myth. We had two formations (excluding the first three games). We used the 4-3-3 on for the first half and the 3-5-2 for the second half. Switching back to the 4-3-3 less than a handful of occasions. Many of you write as though we changed formations every second game and the opponent never knew what to expect. Truth is we always had the same 11 on the pitch (with the striking rotation and Pepe most of the first half the season and De Ceglie the second part the exceptions). Moreover the 4-3-3 and the 3-5-2 are not that different. Both are made around MVP and them having the space to move forwards and spread the ball wide, while the defence has space and manpower to always find someone available. Difference between last and current season is in the tempo, high pressing and aggression.

You won't hear me saying we're playing great, but we're still barely giving anything away & basically always have a few serious scoring opportunities.
As I already posted elsewhere: just look at how many of the chances & half chances we concede end up being goals. It's got to be quite a lot higher than 50% this January. And needless to say, it's very unlikely for such a trend to continue.

This whole crisis blah blah is nonsense. We make the least mistakes but it just happens that we're in a period where the clowns replacing our left flank starters make us pay big for those minimum mistakes.
But even so, this (making 2 mistakes and every lame ass opponent benefiting the max from them), is just ridiculous and is bound to stop sooner rather than later.
Regarding the whole last year vs. this year comparison, expecting our opponents to crumble against us like last year is just delusional. Last year they were caught by surprise by our intensity and approach and didn't know how to compete against us. This year they've figured out and are playing against us like it's a game of life and death for them.
They try to make it as physical as possible for us, and breaking our game plan is their first objective. but even so they mosly run out of steam in the second half, and we look more dominant.
I've rewatched some of our top 4-3-3 games of last year and though we looked more fluid and dynamic, we looked way more unstable at the back. I'm sure 3-5-2 will do better against the europe's big guns.
Every team goes through a bad period, big deal.
