I agree with you though. Conte stepping up, virtually creating this team and the way they play from scratch. If he ends up wining the scudetto, it's an even better story than Guardiola. Guardiola has the entire youth academy working for him, implementing the same tactics he uses into the players way of playing from when they are little kids. PLus, Guardiola took over what was already the best team in the world, so he didn't really have to work that hard for it.
Its not as simple as that. When he took over, they actually got third place in the league the season before and had lost both classico's, one of them 4-1. Plus, the very same youth academy you talked about wasn't being taken advantage of for a long time. When Guardiola came he promoted players like Pedro, Busquets and more recently Thiago into the first team. The former two probably wouldn't have had the same chance with another coach. Also, don't forget that players like Messi, Xavi, Valdes, D.Alves and Iniesta played their best football under Guardiola, while he's played a huge role in the development of Pique, Busquets and Pedro.
Another thing Guardiola must be given credit for is the way he's improved their retention of the ball and their possession based game, they were always good at keeping possession and short passing football, but never as good as they are right now with Guardiola. The way they work hard, retain the ball higher up the pitch than any other team is something else that Guardiola must be given credit for.
I personally believe that Guardiola isn't given enough credit. I think he's a top class coach.
