So many months to adept... strange.
Well Dule, we all have to agree on one thing...Seria A i quite different from the other Euro leagues when it comes to adapting. It is certainly not as easy as the EPL for example where you buy a player and then play him the following afternoon. There are a lot of tactics here to consider in the Seria A. It is, imo, twice as hard to adapt for players such as Elia who are used to just try and dribble past their man without paying any attention to tactics. Maybe, just maybe, Conte is trying to carve him into a "complete" player. And by this i mean adding tactical knowledge and awareness to the already existing technical knowledge of Elia. Maybe this sounds stupid but it is perfectly plausible in my head....

It does makes sense but I find it weird that he's the only player who was paid around 10mln euros and was benched all the time, he was not given a proper chance to prove he's bad anyway. There are tons of players like him that come and start playing instantly, which obviously wasn't the case with Elia. Even Estigarribia came out of some shithole and was given play time. This Elia case seems too strange to me.

There's a reason why Esti has been given the chance more often, he is far more versatile, was the first one to arrive at trainings and last one to leave. He didn't have major language problems either as he speaks Spanish.

I think people are making the Elia-case a far bigger deal than it is.

I've no problem with Conte's treatment of Elia, so long as Conte is consistent and treats other players the same way.

I like that he's willing to punish people for not working hard in training or if they aren't understanding what he wants from them.

Anyone seen what Wenger's said about Conte. Apparently he's been hugely impressed by him and by how fast he's adapted to his position.

"Conte has already some great work. It comes as a bit of a surprise to me as I thought he would need some more time to adapt to his new project at Juventus,"

I would have expected him to encounter a few more problems in his new position. But everything's been going very well. He deals with things in an intelligent manner, and has made some great choices on the transfer market."

    Wenger:

In Italy, Juventus are top and that do is down to the coach, Antonio Conte.
After their recent slump I was expecting a longer period of stagnation but they have worked the transfer market really well.
The platform for all their play is Andrea Pirlo — everyone thought he was finished but he has been made the centrepiece of their team, the man everything goes though: it was a really smart move to pick him up.
The revival of Gianluigi Buffon has helped too. He is back playing to a very, very high level. He was injured for a lot of last year but he is back fit and showing his true ability.
I, and many others, had our doubts: in addition to the injuries, he was making mistakes that he never did before.
But his revival — and that of Pirlo — shows that the great champions have some kind of inner motivation, something the pair of them are showing with the Old Lady.

Ok, just noticed Melo beat me to it by a day or so. :D

Anyway, i agree with Wenger, Conte has done a great job and has by far exceeded most expectations. The way he's revived some players (Chiellini, Barzagli, Pirlo, Marchisio) his astute signings (Licht, Pirlo again, what a masterpiece! Vidal and Vucinic) and the way he's organized the team and got them to actually be able to play some football and pass the ball around. In a way his success story is very similar to that of Guardiola's(on a smaller scale though). Those two seem to be the coaches of the future. Diego Simeone could be one too.

I think this is the third time this month you've asked for me to be banned :shifty:
I agree with you though. Conte stepping up, virtually creating this team and the way they play from scratch. If he ends up wining the scudetto, it's an even better story than Guardiola. Guardiola has the entire youth academy working for him, implementing the same tactics he uses into the players way of playing from when they are little kids. PLus, Guardiola took over what was already the best team in the world, so he didn't really have to work that hard for it.

What does that have to do with anything? :frown:

We don't know whats going on behind the scenes, Conte said he'll play Elia when the time is right..
Because you say it's quite normal, while we haven't seen that sort of stuff in Serie A for like 10 years. I never said it's wrong, I just said it's weird and strange... at least to me.

They say all kinds of crap, no offense. They also said everything is fine with Krasic and how we're not planning to sell him.
