Could you explain how or why I spoke too soon?

We, and that includes you, still don't know the facts. Is Conte involved? If yes, just how much? What exactly do they have on him? Etc.

Conte now apparently doesn't want to go for a plea bargain, Palazzi will then obviously go for a punishment that's as severe as possible. Are you familiar at all with plea bargains, because it's not that difficult to understand.

Carobbio is "helping" them, so they'll be lenient towards him, won't they? Even considering that, his punishment is still more severe than what might be facing Conte, so this fool is still correct.

But hey, I should just stick to shouting fuck "insert random name here" without even having a clue about the entire situation. I'm such a fool.
Yo, how can a judge dismiss 20+ players all saying Conte never said that and say its not credible evidence yet this one guy is for some reason more credible than all these guys and their words?

Do you not see anything wrong with that? All these guys were apparently present when "conte said that" yet only 1 guy is saying Conte agreed to it.

They make it so blatant in dismissing evidence that proves something wrong yet go on the word of one guy.

In Calciopoli they had "wiretaps" they used as cold hard proof and that was in the news then...there is nothing like this now other than what a guy "remembers".

If Conte is banned (dont matter for how long) does that mean he can't train the team in practice?
It depends. Reports are stating he'll be able to train the team - that would be considered a 'touchline ban'. However, if he is banned on grounds that he violated FIGC Rules and Regulations on Ethics, it would be a 'traditional ban' which would remove him from football related activies for that length.

Its seeming that it would be a less harsh 'touchline ban'. But there's no way to know, and we'll have to see what happens at the trial.

You could've asked that same exact question in 2006.

Could be, but I think the artificial judges on this case have already made their minds up regarding Conte's punishment.
But this is the second time the FIGC has lost complete control of the league. FIFA should be looking on and saying, "hold on, we are stepping in here and taking over. Enough is enough".

1 Maybe , maybe not .
2 If he is , than it is about 2 matches in his time at siena
3 The word of a known match-fixer , which strangely enough is all they need to suspend him :sergio:

I'm not surprised by Conte's decision. What would have been surprising, was if Conte, a man with the kind of integrity and sense of honor that he has, had accepted the plea bargain. Ever since I heard of the plea bargain, I never cared for it, even though it probably would've meant that he could've stayed on as Juventus coach in the end.

I'm happy to see a man that I respect so much, instead will take up the fight with Palazzi and FIGC.

Most likely, the Juve-Conte era ends here. But my respect for him, does not.

Grazie mister, for everything.

I love the fact that Conte isnt taking the plea bargain even if it means he gets a year touchline ban.

Imagine winning the scudetto without a coach (of course Conte will be the one training the team behind the scenes) :touched:

I'm not dismissing anything, unlike 95% of people. That's my entire point.

Also, unlike those 95% of people, I give just as much importance to the anti- Juve stuff/statements/rumours/whatever coming out as to the pro- Juve side of things.

But let me be clear: I sincerely hope we (everyone involved with the club) are cleared of this crap.

They'd invent a new scandal and relegate us to Lega Pro Prima Divisione.

Not if it's the 15 months Palazzi is asking. And as for a civil court trial, it takes alot of time, maybe even up to a year. The club will be forced to fire him.

Nope not at all, most Serie A clubs that fire managers still have them on the payroll because of termination penalties in their contracts.

We can and will have another touchline presence with Conte officially still the manager, we'd never have to fire him.

Maybe let him go for a season and hire an interim coach. I don't see us abandoning Conte not matter what the verdict is.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't, but in a calcio that's all about stocks, finances and politics, I'm pretty damn sure we will.
