We, and that includes you, still don't know the facts. Is Conte involved? If yes, just how much? What exactly do they have on him? Etc.

Conte now apparently doesn't want to go for a plea bargain, Palazzi will then obviously go for a punishment that's as severe as possible. Are you familiar at all with plea bargains, because it's not that difficult to understand.

Carobbio is "helping" them, so they'll be lenient towards him, won't they? Even considering that, his punishment is still more severe than what might be facing Conte, so this fool is still correct.
