Marotta is aware of Conte's plans and he did not mention Bastos or any other winger.
So it safe to conclude that Conte do not wants a formation based on wingers, like our current 4-4-2.
Judging by his preferred formation, the abundance CMs and SSs we have and the fact that we are looking for even more,
indicates that the new formation will need more of them.
It could be a 4-3-3 trident, but Marotta said that Pastore wont fit there, so he prolly had 4-2-4 in mind, that would mean more defensive orientated CMs (Diarra) to complement Pirlo and many sales in the CM department (Melo,Sissoko,Tiago, probably Marchisio too, given the chance, but its unlikely)
4 starter forwards means 8 forwards in total. That justifies that despite our huge amount of forwards, we will heavily invest on the forward line and still have space for Amauri's agent, to hope that his client may have a place in our roster.
It will also explain why we have signed both Quaq and Pepe and why Aquero is our priority.
It explains that we can buy Vucinic and still find space for Aquero and wont need extra cash for the midfield.
So my guess is that Conte will go for a 4-2-4 variation, with the 2 side forwards playing as midfielders while we defend, in order to convert the scheme from the attacking 4-2-4 to a solid 4-4-2
Krasic, Pepe and Martinez (also quaq and Iaq or Amauri) can play the wide forward role, Matri and Toni (or Iaq) will be our finisher.
With a new SS (Aquero/Rossi/Sanchez) being the starter in front of DP/Quaq and Iaq or Amauri.
So Matri/Toni, New SS/DP, Quaq/Martinez, Krasic/Martinez, can all find a space in our team and with an extra hand of Amauri or Iaq, it wouldnt be a huge excess considering that some of those players are aged/inconsistent.
That means that we will sell 1-2 forwards, 2 midfielders and buy a star SS and DM. Just like Marotta always saying at keeping the majority of the Italians we loaned, bringing only two champions and selling a lot of CMs.
