5/6 of those midfielders and attackers were what got us the great results in the first half of the season. I'm inclined to believe that some of them are not playing with the same intensity as they had done (Vidal, Marchisio), Vucinic struggles to produce quality regularly, and Pepe has his limitations when the rest of them aren't up to their game. I've gone over the Borriello part because he was awful, but Matri wasn't going to rejuvenate the rest of the players to perform to a higher standard. I don't think you're far from the truth that we lack quality in attack, because we lack a clinical finisher, and there still isn't a Del Piero heir in sight. Basically, we lack Del Piero and Trezeguet.
