To the people querying Conte's decision to go very defensive at the end:

You can't play as high a tempo as Juve did in the first half and not suffer for it a bit at some stage in the match. Holding onto possession still requires a lot of work from the midfield, who were exhausted after the amount of pressing they did in the first half.

Normally with this Juve defence, I would look to try and keep posing a threat going forward and try to retain possession, but I think it was impossible on this occasion.

The only change I might have made differently would have been bringing on Elia rather than Estigarribia. Estigarribia did fine, but Elia might have been able to do more in terms of carrying the ball and giving the rest of the team some respite.

The team need to hold possesion more as Fiorentina became more involved in attack back then. Estigarribia is superior in terms of defending, there were moments where his tackle/defending greatly help the exhausted defense; and who knows Chiellini won't choke at the last minutes.

When was the last time we were dominating possession in 3, 4 or 5 consecutive matches in the past 4 years?

Thank you, Conte. Now, he needs to shift his attention into implementing some good tactical movements in the final third. The great exchange of duties between Marchisio and Vidal in a 3 CM system is just a joy to watch.

What I love the most about our passing game is that it's not the bullshit tiki-taka style passing a la Spain and Barcelona, it's more like current Real's, MU's and former Arsenal's passing, when no time is wasted and every pass is meant to get the team forward with quick touches. No nonsense.

PS unfortunately, another thing we share with that Arsenal is poor finishing.

Matri alone was giving Fiorentina a nightmate in the 2nd half. There were many times where we could have hit them on the counter-attacks but there was no one but Matri alone surrounded by 4 defenders.

Anyway, important thing we won the game. Now lets hope we play even better against Calciopoli Directors.

You obviously hate football or just jealous of barca.

My only take on Conte is being late in using his substitutions... The team was really tired after the 70th minute, he should have introduced fresh legs way earlier.

There is something very special brewing in Turin. It's obvious that Conte is very demanding for off ball movement and high tempo style, which is causing alot of miss passes and turnovers. Once the players are adapted to the system, and the players become efficient in the final third, this team is going to be a force to reckon with. It's just a matter of time. We still need a proper LB and a trequartista though

This is what I'm seeing as well. I'm just praying that it will materialize to the full extent.

Depends on how "former" that Arsenal is.
