Conte isn't as bad at subs as he is with the starting 11 IMO...that, and choosing the most effective formation to play.

I feel like if one formation does really well in one game you can guarantee he will use it again the very next game, and once that fails the next game will have an entirely different looking formation. This isn't smart, it's not like he has to change entirely because of a series of injuries, he just seems to change for the sake of it.

433 is the wait to go, forget our useless winger on the right side. Rotate Elia/Esti in the top left and perhaps Mirko/Quag on the top right in the 433. We need our most creative players up, in, and around the box...not on the wings where we see an endless supply of useless crosses that reach no one.
Agree 100%

 no. Conte has tried, tested and shown succesfully that the way for this team to control the game is through the midfield; crowd it with consistent passers and players making movement. Like I said, the Pazienza move worked. IT was an inviidual error that led to the second goal.
Our midfield was making mistakes all game, whether bad passing (yes marchisio included) or holding onto the ball far too long and losing it under pressure.

Overcrowding the midfield and taking away one of the attackign outlets our midfielders had with the second striker was stupid. We overcrowded the mid AND took away one of their options going forward. Pazienza might have work but if we had capable wingers that could themselves control possession we would have been fine. Individual error or not, we did not do well in midfield.

DP is sublime at slowing play, drawing fouls, making the right pass, etc. He is the one you want the team to start looking to in times like that, not Pazienza.

Do you read what you write? You asses the midfield made mistakes? And as a solution you'd bring on an attacker? And again; the Pazienza sub DID work.
Did you see how many mistakes Pirlo/Marchisio made holding onto the ball too long, bad passing? Our entire midfield was on and off all game, why introduce another average midfielder?

Should have taken off Mirko who didn't really do all the much and bring on DP.

You won't gain control of the midfield by bringing on DP. When Pazienza entered, we did a much better job of holding onto the ball as well as winning it (until genoa's second goal).

Pazienza should have came in for Marchisio and DP for Mirko. You take one of the problems out by putting in a player that could have been tougher to break down and you put in another player that makes the smart decisions going forward by taking out a striker that underperformed.

The Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio midfield is the highlight of the year. Problems is depth when one is injured.

Would be great to have someone like Ramirez who can play at AM or one of the wing/striker positions.

if we lose Pirlo then its a problem, but if I'm not wrong we have Marrone and Pazienza for the other 2 positions.

in a crisis, change formation.

I don't think losing Pirlo is that big a problem. Vidal-Marchisio can cover the DM roles in a 4-2-3-1 but no-one left to play the AM position.

who will create? Pirlo has in just a month become the heartbeat of the team.
Pirlo doesn't so much 'create', he is a regista and keeps the flow going... but what we'd lose in passing... we'd make up for in pressing. But that's why i say we need an AM that's versatile.

Bayern Munich has the best set-up because Muller/Kroos/Ribbery can shift from central to wide. All our wingers are brainless and can't.

That's because Pirlo is absolutely amazing. It's easy when you are as good as he is.
yes...I know.

ok we don't have a versatile AM.

That brazilian guy we signed is also there right?
he's a DM apparently.
