Fabio Capello insists he “has nothing against” Antonio Conte after the two men traded insults through the media.

The Juventus Coach reacted furiously on Sunday to comments from the Russia manager regarding his man-management tactics, specifically the decision to revoke the team’s day off after a 2-2 draw.

“Conte is doing some very good things and proving all his worth,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia in an interview that was filmed just before the Juve tactician’s outburst.

“Everyone controls the group in the way they see best. I never said I was against the decisions he made. I was just asked a question about annulling the day off and replied I was against punitive methods. I don’t like people being punished for doing something wrong. I’ve never done that.

“Having said that, every Coach has the right to do what he things is best and knows his own players well. It is very difficult to understand the decisions of other Coaches if you don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors.

“I only said that I never punished a team. I didn’t say I was against Conte’s decision, nor do I have anything against him.”

However, the response from Capello could be considerably stronger after hearing what Conte had to say to various television stations on Sunday afternoon.

Most people when u mention Juve think match fixers straight away. It's frustrating to say the elast when there was no evidence at all of match fixing and now that some light has been shed on the situation people still refuse to believe because they read what the media wants them to read, or dont read the actual facts about Calciopoli.
This.

Trap tells off Conte and Capello

By Football Italia staff

Giovanni Trapattoni told off Antonio Conte and Fabio Capello for being “hyper-sensitive to criticism.”

The Juventus Coach bitterly criticised the Russia manager for commenting on his decision to scrap the team’s day off this week.

After an astonishing barrage of insults from Conte, another former Juve boss has entered the fray.

“We all have our teams to work with, our styles and our elements to consider, so it would be better if everyone thought only about their own houses,” Trap told Sport Mediaset.

“Perhaps they are hyper-sensitive to criticism. I know in Germany they always replay the footage of my outburst in a Press conference, but it all goes back down very quickly.

“We have to focus on our professional logic and ethics. We all do our work and there is room for everyone. It’s up to us to have the strength and the thick skin to go forward.”

Capello had irritated Conte by claiming this Juventus was only shattering records because it was in a 'mediocre’ League with no competition.

“Serie A has its characteristics and in my view is the most difficult. It might be more spectacular in England or Germany, where the teams are less tense and less tactically stressed, but our League is very unpredictable,” insisted Trapattoni.

The former Italy and Republic of Ireland manager was also questioned about tomorrow’s Champions League clash between Milan and Atletico Madrid. Can the Rossoneri win?

“If Milan interpret the game properly, then yes. If they focus on approaching these theories of football I keep hearing about, then no. Atletico are a very tough side to face, as I learned in the past.”

Now HERE is a coach whose words I take seriously. A true legend in the Juve coaching ranks.

You'll approve of Allegri's retirment plans then:

"I will go to Livorno, stay by the sea, go fishing, eat good food, drink good wine. I might watch a few games here and there, but not go around pontificating on what other people are doing."

“Winning the Europa League in our second season back in Europe would be an extraordinary achievement.
“We know that we underachieved in the Champions League this season and it was our fault.
“But now we have the Europa League and we want to progress.
“I really don’t know if Juventus are favourites to win it or not, if a lot of people think that then I thank them!
“But we know that even for the favourites, the journey from here to winning the final is a very, very long one.”
