very curious decision from Conte, Samp was there for the taking if he had been a bit more bold with his subs, Giovinco would have run rings around them if he had been brought on earlier.

I guess he went for the safer option.

Everything was going fine, so there was no need to change.

Juve hadn't played in midweek and don't play this midweek, so there was no issue with rotation or tiredness.

I don't think Conte is particularly slow to make changes in general.

Hmmmm.... i know they are not tired, but i was thinking more about the players on the bench and them getting some playing time. At least more than 2 minutes.

Nah, no place for making subs for the sake of it in the game today.

I would have advocated making the subs to get players time when Juve were comfortably beating Lazio, but the injury to Marchisio and the fact that Barzagli went into that game carrying an injury meant it wasn't possible to do it in that game either.

No-one in their right mind is going to go in the huff after not getting much of a game after one proper match and one semi-proper match.

Could someone please give me an explanation as to why Conte made the first sub in the 89th minute and why almost always does he make late subs?
Honestly, I think the subs were up at the 85th minute at least but there were no stoppages till 89th.

I do think that Conte has problems trusting players right away. I'd think Llorente will get his first extended action when there is low pressure.

Conte doesn't like to change unless we're chasing the result or we are in comfortable lead. It's just the way he is. He sticks with the same team whenever possible.

I don't know about that. Vucinic didn't have a particularly good second half. Using Llorente in the last 20 minutes would have been a good decision. At that time we needed to take advantage of his height and his ability to hold on to the ball under difficult circumstances.

You don't? Unfortunately, I can't remember any concrete examples of games, but I have often been frustrated with his late substitutions - especially when we need to chase a win. He usually makes the right substitutes (in my opinion), but they always come 10-20 minutes later than what I prefer.
