thats why we wont get someone like Van Gaal, they don't want to be told what to do but do it their own way so they hire pussy managers that they can boss around and when shit goes wrong they wipe their hands clean and blame it all on the coach like what they are doing to Del Neri

the biggest problem at Juve isn't the coach or players but the management and until this changes we will never return
Couldn't have said it better.

I hardly see all that you mention as the epitome of good coaching. Being authoritative may be a good quality, but even that is debatable. Whether players join this club depend on more than the coach's wishes and Marotta's work. What if those players who the coach deem necessary aren't able to come for whatever reason? What then? Another mediocre season? For me, a good coach is one who is able to utilise the resources he has and make a good squad out of that, no matter if they are not his ideal players. Obviously a good coach would also have an eye on the future and the players that would make his job easier and perfect his plan. But having a coach who is able to boss Marotta, hardly says anything about his coaching abilities.
    Not true.
The coach won't be bossing Marotta by threatening to kill him or beat him. He'll be bossing him with his authority and authority is built with knowledge and success. The one who proved his knowledge and has success behind him will not let Marotta work alone. He'd demand to be included in creating the new team. And even with limited resources and refusals from some players to join us, I'm still convinced that such a coach will do better transfers than Marotta.

No doubt about that. But this is what we get for basing our future off of one season with Sampdoria.

At some point in the future, someone will write a book similar to that of Parks' Verona and call it, "One Season with Sampdoria." It will be a nice little story of provincial side Juventus winning their first trophy in 20 years by beating Palermo in the Italian Cup.

That's what we'll look like with Conte:

    Buffon
Beck - Bonucci - Chiellini - De Ceglie
    Krasic - Aquilani - Marchisio - Bastos
    Quagliarella - Matri

So an entire midfiled that treats playing defense like it is an allergy?

Oh yeah, that should be fun next season.

There isn't a 4-2-4 tactic (except in desperate situations when chasing a result in the last minutes). That's a 4-4-2 with attacking wingers. It's like playing 4-4-2 with Krasic and Giovinco and call it a 4-2-4.
Mhm, pretty much playing Krasic and Bastos very high on the pitch. More like 4-2-2-2.

But the 4-4-2 with attacking wingers is the only way the system works. That's what the system was designed for, destroying the opposition on the flanks. I don't have a problem with it provided we get a good left-winger and improve the defense, but we'd also need a mobile forward who can run at defenders as well. The whole Italian 4-4-2 consists of wingers who have to be reasonably good defensively, along with forwards who are static. I can't stand that shit. It doesn't work in today's game unless you have a world class squad. We don't. So use the 4-3-3 instead.
