What's your opinion on Marchisio? I rate him but I think he's disposable.
MArchisio was easily the one who could dive in our team as a starter right away.
The others needed more time and games on their foots.
In Italy they have applied some special rules that each team much follow, we need to have a number of our products declared on our roster.
We need to comply with that anyway, ideally those player should contribute and dont be just fillers, have small salaties and lots of loyalty.
So the better they are, the better for our teams. So for this reason, i value them a bit more than their real value.
MArchisio is a player one can easily underestimated, he does a lot of quiet work, but he does it with a remarkable consistency in my opinion.
HE might not reach the heights to become great like Pirlo and lead Juve and Italy.
But he will always offer decent performances, he could be the golden landmark for us,
anyone who does better than Marchisio, deserves the starters jersey. He is versatile and never complaiens to other players and managers, i believe that he would accept the bench role without many issues.
Yes we can find new Pogbas and replace and if the proper offers comes for him, we could consider selling him.
But our selling performances are terrible, selling him out and make a new acquisition that might or might not deliver and then seek another young player to fill that domestic youngster slot, instead of letting him gain experience elsewhere, might hurt us more that letting him go.
Bonucci is average.
Juventus have the three best CBs in Serie A, Bonucci is one of them.
We leaked less goals than most clubs in Europe.
Juve may have the best 3 indeed, but this doesnt say much, Barza and Chiellini are top class, but the new generation of Italian defenders is easily the worst in the last 3 decades.
As long as i watch football, the Italian defenders were amongst the best in the world, well not anymore...
And we did not leak less gaols in Europe because of Bonucci's interceptions, man marking and tackles, we have other factors to thank for that, esp our midfield, the way they support the defense and controlling the game, letting no chance to opposition to create chances.
One of the few times they get through though, their best chance is to go past bonucci, who is our weakest link.
Regardless of that, he will soon grow in the age the CB become great, the mistake was to use him as a starter when he wasnt ready and pay so much in cash and players contracts.
Now we just need one more CB in the same level to rotate the starter 3, in the midfield line for ex, we also have 3 starters but we also have a load of back ups who are dedicated CMs, we do not use Vucinic, Giaccherini and Caceres for CM, that would had a great impact on our performance.
So it is omly logiacal to add one more dedicated CB, o Pogba in the defense if you like, some one to give them the right motivation to remain consistent and always try their best if tey want to keep the the starters player and rest them in our long journey of 3 competitions.
but it is true and it is plain and simple!
This is the only reason we were never really interested on none Italian CBs ever since MArotta joined us and that we overpay for mediocre defensive talent, only because they are Italians...
There are counteless cases that confirm this rule, the Ogbonna interest is one amongst them.
This is not just a theory anymore, we have systematically tried every available LB anc CB option there are and no matter how hard we suffered because of this, we keep doing it.

Cronios, I have hold your opinion in high regard for a long time. You seemed to be the only one understanding that nationality doesn't matter, and that Marotta clearly favors Italian players. But now I hear from you that "you rate them a bit more than their real value" only because of their nationality. It seems that you finally couldn't handle the pressure any more. You are just one of the rest now.

Esp on the defense, esp when were insisting with players like Molinaro, Grosso, Motta and in a lesser degree the young Bonucci,
when their incompetence and inconsistence made us pay with conceded goals, traduced in lost points and some times even title chances.
It is a weakness and i hate it, i dont hate Italians, i hate the fact that we endure weaklings only because they are Italians.
If i would hate Italians i wouldnt adore Cannavaro or other Italians that perform, but when we sacrifice performance and quality, only because of nationalism, i shall protest for the good of Juve as i see it.

But this just goes too far imo, if he is not good enough, he should be replaced, just like we replace all the Diegos, the Melos etc, its only at Molinaros, Pelusos, Grossos and Mottas we show such tolerance.
Zeglier, Lucio etc, were frebies, we did not invest on them as we did on Bonucci and are ready to do with Ogbonna, heck not even as we invested on Peluso.
Peluso is the latest example that we still have a thing with Italian defenders, regardeless of the current pitiful state in quality of the last crop.
It is not by chance that Bonucci was given so many chances after so many mistakes and seasons being our worst player on the pitch, same goes with Molinaro, Motta and the like.
And after all that we still insist with the Pelusos and refuse to buy a non Italian.
The only exception on the rule was Licht, which is in my opinion one of the greatest transfers Marotta ever did.
But i guess we can tolerate 1/4 of our defence of being non Italian.
The pattern of not investing on non Italian and try all the Pelusos has been repeating for nearly a decade now, do you still claim that it was just random?
C mon, it was long ago proven true beyond any doubt and after all what happened when you see that we are only interested in the last remaining Italian options we didnt try yet (Peluso, Ogbonna and Rannochia) only because they have NT caps and not because there are no other CBs/LB available in the global market, you cannot really be that... naive, you know that it is not coincidence!
And the only thing that links those players is their nationality, when their nationality is given priority over their value/price and performance ratio, then yes, nationalism becomes an issue!

That's more to do with going with players known to us and cheap; ergo average Italian players.

Were Molinaro, Grosso and Motta not replaced? Actually don't answer. Peluso is a back up and a decent one at that, but I'm sure you'll continue to hold onto that one tightly. By the way you also conveniently forgot Caceres, a player we already knew about.

There is no rule or exception. Maybe one day you'll understand the basis and reasons for us buying players from our domestic league. A lot of Italians play in Serie A, amazing stuff.
