Higuain will have more resale value, which Tevez won't offer. Also, I think Higuain is a safer bet and is yet to peak. Tevez at his prime is undoubtedly the better player, but Higuain is yet to peak (IMO). That said, I think we need a Tevez type of player more than we need Higuain with Llorente in the bag. But, Higuain for the rumoured price (25m) is too good an opportunity to let go. Fuck I'm confused :D
Did we buy Del Piero for his resale value?

I don't remember.

We signed Del Piero at 16/17 years old for a pittance, cannot be compared to signing a 29 year old player; if you were going to compare him to someone, a better example would have been Nedved, who we signed in his late 20s

Why are you even comparing absolute professionals (who became club legends) with someone who has had his fair share of retarded moments (not wanting to play, trying to force his way out of his contract, being homesick, ...)?

And before someone wonders: I'm not doubting Tevez' qualities. He's absolutely brilliant when he wants to. There's just no way I'd spend a significant amount on such a character.

Because since when did we become a selling club? We want results....Tevez gives us result.

Higuain as well. But to not want Tevez because of "resale value" is sorta bizarre.

Tevez would not be purchased for the sake of hoping to cash in on him a few years down the road.

He's a temporary solution (although the potential to be a fantastic one) to a problem that has plagued this club for the last several years.

He would be at Juve until Juve either A) Invests in a much younger, much more expensive striker down the road or B) Juve develops a top striker out of the several young guns they are currently in possesion of/ will be purchasing.

Lichtsteiner, Isla; Caceres, Barzagli, Bonucci, Ogbonna; Chiellini, Peluso

IMO more than enough, no need to buy a left-back or a wing-back, as Asamoah and Peluso can take the left flank in a 3-5-2 and Ogbonna, Chiellini, Peluso (and maybe even Asanoah) can take the left back role in a 4 man backline!
