The deal was reached in the night, the signatures will arrive in afternoon in Turin, to ensure Ogbonna doesn’t have to report to Torino’s training camp this evening. Juve is waiting for Ogbonna, the final details will be addressed today and the saga will end. The deal was reached in a restaurant after there was some frictions in Cairo’s office. We can now give more precise details: 12 million in cash (payable in 3 years) plus 3 in bonuses, it’s possible some of the fixed or variable amounts could change, but the final figure will be 15. Initially Immobile will not be part of the deal, the subject will be discussed again once Torino will have acquired Genoa’s half (Moretti will likely be in the deal as well). Then Juve will decide if they want to sell their half of Immobile for around 3 million or keep him on co ownership with Torino hoping his value increases by next summer, which seems the most likely solution. In the meantime, there are just a few details before Ogbonna joins Juve.

For the 12m going up to 15m that is being spoken about, that is probably more than he is worth to Juve right now, since he is a backup who they hope will develop into a starter.

If Milan, who badly need a starting centre-half, paid that much for him, I don't think I would say they overpaid for him.

It's not a deal that's a huge rip-off for Juve by any means, but it ain't cheap.

I would also suggest that Juve may have had to pay a premium of a few million extra due to it being Torino they were buying from. That was always likely to force the price up a little.

Playing for Bologna doesn't take away from him being Juve's investment.
Not bringing him back at this point when we're in a need of a back up that would get decent amount of playing time doesn't really classifies as something that we're counting on in the future. Sadly.

I think Ogbonna is decent. But now after seeing these numbers I don't like the deal. We could've invested money elsewhere. Sorensen is good enough to take role of 4th CB.

I still wonder why don't we bring back Sorensen?

Even we signed him and gave him chance on the field, he did very good. He showed promise and lots of talent. He was very mature for his age. Loaning him out was fine. But at this point when we're chasing a 15mln sub, or 4th CB player, it just looks wrong. We should simply bring him back and invest money elsewhere. It's just wrong IMO.
Because Sørensen is 21 years old. He can't sit on the bench most of the time, he needs too play.

Because he's mediocre as fuck.
Nah.

There's also a reason most of Europe was scouting Ogbonna before his injury this season. He's going to develop into a super defender under Conte.

But 25yo when he's about to hit peak and plays his best years as a CB, can?

Also, having us play 3-5-2 requires at least 4 quality CBs, so we're actually counting on Ogbonna. He's gonna play quite a lot next season.

Oh, so taking a risk to buy him for 15mln makes sense after having a crap season. But paying money for Jovetic who's also 'injured a lot' isn't.

Bring back Sorensen for a fraction of the cost of Ogbonna. Let's be honest here...how often is he really going to play anyways? (Ogbonna that is). Is it worth 13-15m to play as much as Lucio did? I mean its not like our back 3 got rotated all the much anyways last year and who is to say that Conte doesn't revert back to a 4 back line as well?

Bring back Sorensen for peanuts. Fuck off to Ogbonna. Use the money we "were" going to use on the kid and just buy Jovetic.

Ugh.
