My fellow androidians, I'm signing a contract. These are my options:
HTC Desire - 200kn
Samsung Galaxy S - 1kn
LG Optimus 2X P990 - 595kn *
Sony Ericsson LT15 Arc - 595 kn
Sony Ericsson MT15 Neo - 195 kn
I'm looking for most value for the money, so I'm guessing SGS, no? I can afford one of the dual core phones(LG) but do I really need it? Please thoughts and opinions. Please don't recommend anything else, these are my options. Thanks.

My gf has the SGS and I have the O2X. The O2X is much better looking.
Generally, the SGS has a bit better software, it lags less, it doesnt come to a halt when installing apps, and it has gingerbread.
However, O2X is supposed to get GB soon (it should have already been here, but now they're saying its the end of November), but there are some great custom roms for it based on a leaked version of GB, and also custom kernels which overclock it all the way up to 1400 Mhz if you want (or keep it at stock speed)... they say its super-fast on the cutom roms (Cm7 or Togapigi). I havent flashed an custom one yet but I probably will tommorrow, and the stock GB is coming, we just dont know precisely when...
I personally think the O2X is the better option, it is more future-proof, as the SGS isnt really young anymore. However, the SGS will probably have better software support from Samsung, while O2X will have to rely on the developer community (which is luckily very good) because LG is terrible with software updates.

A major security vulnerability has been discovered in recent HTC Android phones that would make the recent location tracking issue in iOS seem trivial in comparison.
Discovered by the people at Android Police along with Trevor Eckhart, this issue plagues HTC's latest Android phones such as the EVO 3D, EVO 4G, Sensation and Thunderbolt.
What is happening here is that these HTC phones are logging user data such as email addresses, SMS data, location, phone numbers, system logs, etc. thanks to a suite of logging tools installed by HTC in the latest updates to these devices. But while simply collecting the data may not be bad enough, the devices unfortunately make this data accessible to any application that can connect to the Internet.
This would allow someone to write an application that would take advantage of this vulnerability and misuse that data and who knows, they may already be doing that. Android Police believes that there is enough information in there to clone your device.
There is a lot more to this than what we have discussed here and we would urge you to visit the source link to get complete lowdown. It must be said that this is deeply troubling and the full blame falls on HTC. After failing to initially respond to Trevor's attempts to contact HTC, the company has now finally responded on the matter and assured that they are working on it. Hopefully a fix is issued soon.
Do note that this issue is only faced on the latest HTC devices running the latest firmware. If you have an older device or a newer rooted device running a custom ROM then you have no reason to worry about.

Gave my Desire to the service center today. Will get to know tomorrow if I'll be charged for the service. I hope to get the display replaced too while I'm at it. If they do need to replace the keyboard circuit, it'll cost me about Rs. 700, which is about $15. Lets see how it goes.

Maybe your phone (SGS II, right) has built in screen shot app? Some phones do, the O2X for example.

I want to set it so that auutorotate is off always, except when the keyboard is on (gmail, messaging), in youtube, videos... thats mostly it. Mostly its when the keyboard is on, because it really annoys me when it autorotates when I dont want it to. I dont know how to set the tasks, profiles, active, enabled, etc...

I think there's a state called "Keyboard Out" but I've never used it before. Give that a try.
