Water damage is a no no for HTC, my Incredible S has been in service and now I get it back unrepaired unreplaced. They have an indicator inside the phone that turns red when humid leaks in. Once the indicator is red the warranty fails.

They don't repair either because they say that they cannot guarantee that they dry out all the damaged (wet) parts.
I can confirm that same indicator on my old LG. I think pretty much all manufacturers have those nowadays.

But it was only a few drops of beer that feel down on the buttons. Anyway, I how they do something about it. It's getting really annoying!

    So what did you do?
In the end I got some cover from my insurance and I got my old half functioning phone that I will try to sell. If I fail to sell it I will still be able to sell it via a phone recycling site.

Authorized workshops will open your phone, if the indicitaor is red you will lose your warranty. I haven't dropped any liquid on my phone, I found it one time in my son's mouth so go figure. Just a bit of saliva made me lose it.

I'll take a chance anyway. But first, I gotta install an RUU on my phone so that the service center guys won't use the rooting excuse to void the warranty.
I am not saying you shouldn't take your chances and of course you have to install an RUU and go S-off. Restore to factory settings and send the phone with a memory card that you don't usually use.

Did I recommend this phone to you? I remember telling quite a few people about it, not sure if I told you though. My wife won't still allow me to drop it in water, such a bummer :frown:
    You did :agree:
Phone is badass man. It fell 2 floors down in my office. Minor problems, but still working great :)
