ok so the facebook issue is a pain but now i am really pissed,Endmondo wont open it simply force shuts,which is a problem as i use it when i cycle to work. Last FM isnt working either and this is a problem as i do not have any music on my phone,i simply stream it

my phone is upgraded but none of the damn apps i use most will work

I've been loving my Desire, but frustratingly it's still running on 2.1 and it comes with a bunch of un-uninstallable vendor crap.

I'm using an external launcher so I can just choose to hide the icons for the crap, but it's taking up precious internal memory which I can't free up because 2.1 doesn't allow installation onto an SD card (seriously what were they thinking only offering internal memory installation on devices with so little capacity?).

I'm very tempted to root my phone and install a custom ROM, but I'm hesitant because it came with a 24 month warranty and if I brick it I'll probably be screwed. Grrrr

I understand your fear, Gray. But if you follow the instructions exactly as they're stated, then there's a small chance that you'll root your phone. Check out THIS thread. Hopefully it should help.

Yeah, I know there's a pretty high success rate, but reading forums I can see even very experienced devs bricking their phones, so I'll probably just be a good little consumer and wait for the official update.

At this point there's nothing totally gamebreaking that means I have to have Froyo NOW, but if there's something I absolutely can't wait for I'm willing to take the plunge.
