As I posted in the match thread, giving credit where it is due, a fantastic goal. Having said that, whilst he did some good things, I still think his time is up. His general performance for 90 minutes over the course of the season is just not good enough, despite a few moments of brilliance like his strikes against Olympiakos, Torino and again this match.

Thats the thing. Marchisio is obviously more solid defensively but Pirlo is capable of the sublime. Marchisio will rarely if ever create out of nothing or do something magical while Pirlo's magic is still higher than that of any other deep lying play maker in the world.

I think against dortmund marchisio is the safer option because their attack is better than their defense and we should be able to easily score without Pirlo's magic. If it seemed like a draw is coming though then we should substitute pirlo into the match and hope for one of his magical moments.

We should win the home game. We are much better than Dortmund in every respect and they are in terrible shape. Ideally you should be able to beat Dortmund at their best as you have superior resources. But If you can't beat the worst Dortmund in the world then that would be a failure.
