Inter plan Pirlo attempt?
By Football Italia staff

Prospective new Inter owner Erick Thohir is reportedly intent on trying to sign Andrea Pirlo back to the Nerazzurri next summer.

The Juventus man is the subject of increasing speculation regarding his future, having now entered the final 12 months of his current contract in Turin.

Linked with Tottenham and Real Madrid among others, the Corriere dello Sport suggest today that Inter are also going to be on the veteran’s trail.

Pirlo, whose career really took off only after ending a three-year spell with the Nerazzurri in 2001, is reportedly seen as the 'gift’ signing that the club’s prospective new owner Thohir wants to sign to mark his arrival at San Siro.

Whilst it is seen that there remain many obstacles to a possible move, the report is that Inter are starting work on ascertaining the player’s objectives come next summer.

Pirlo is believed by the Corriere dello Sport set to only negotiate a possible renewal with Juventus come February-March next year, by which time he will also be free to negotiate with other interested parties.

The playmaker currently earns €4m a season but is expected to take a pay-cut on any new deal signed, as by the summer he will have turned 35.

My money on Denmark $#@!ing over Italy is looking to more and more value by the day.
Kinda unlucky there mate. We, for once, played quite a good game, and really deserved the victory. Italy were really dissapointing, didn't look like they really wanted to give their all for a win, which is typical italian - why waste energy when you are already qualified...

That Pirlo to Inter story is based on a tweet from Thohir MONTHS ago that apparently all the Italian papers only picked up on now.

Someone tweeted to him something like "if you take over, I'd like to see more Italian players in Inter" and his response was "I like Pirlo".

Don't think it has much substance, plus Pirlo said in his book that he already turned down a move back to Inter once.

Do you know what was the worst thing Pirlo did against Fiorentina? The amount of fouls he made, I have never seen him so much frustrated.

I hope you all saw how disaster he is without the ball, he can never defend, he's great with the ball but one sad pathetic player defensively. People mock Marchi that he vanishes at least he give his heart out on the field. Anyone can out-run, dribble, pass by Pirlo and he would be jogging.

Watch how Di Maria passed by him without Pirlo even trying.
