During Allegri era teams were scared of facing us, now they are happy to face us.
I guess ppl forget Allegri first legs vs Atletico, Real, Tottenham. I know this is Porto, but our perfomances were similiar yet we played completely different game in the second leg.
Not here to defend Pirlo, but Allegri also had similiar games in CL, with the team already settled.
Also his appeal for penalty is normal for me. This was a clear foul and seeing referee not whistling it while some of the most stupid fouls are whistled against us is really frustrating.
I really have no hope for Pirlo, but its not only the coach I have no hope for this team, with a midfield setup like this one doubt any coach would play proper football, its just disaster. When u watch a game just every commentator, who comments Juve, even for the first time can see it, thats how bad it is. I dont really understand though why we wont try to McKennie in more defensive role, because the duo of Rabiot and Benta is just...

He makes those dangerous runs into the box that basically none of our other mids do and has the lungs to track back.

Allegri was literally the victim of his own success. With a squad full of gaping holes he gave our management the unrealistic perception that our team selection is an inch away from winning a CL. And the big brains of Nedved and Paratici thought that the only reason we are not successful is the lack of attacking attitude. So they decided to get rid of him and the fun began.

What a dumb decision in hindsight.
I dont blame our board to change coach - I understand when you want a different style. The problem is who we picked for this:
Sarri - Obvious football at Napoli and won nothing. Chelsea got one good season in which he won with Chelsea but still nothing to be excited about
Pirlo - and then we went on tilt and just tried the first thing that came to our eyes. I guess Pirlo was caught in the frame when Agnelli made the decision.

Now we have 2 options - Stick with the bad choice or change it.
Gasp can easily modify our team and I think he is the best coach for our current players BUT I dont remember a team of his being consistent.
Inzaghi - I really like his football but the players at our disposal are practically the opposite of what he needs (strong midfield).
Zidane - He managed it with Real Madrid and now his team has ups and downs. I like Zidane`s style of play and he is definitely the best coach of the three (as to right now), but to say our team is built for him is not remotely close.

Didn't need hindsight to see it was a stupid decision.

They got their profile wrong after Allegri. Allegri was both a good tactician and man manager. Sarri was a tactician but terrible man manager. Pirlo seems below par on both areas, but he´s a rookie.

So either we wait for Pirlo to catch up or we go for someone else who combine the two like Allegri did. There are very few of those though. At the end of the day our management is f´ed up, so many costly mistakes with long-term effects they´ve made.

Need to get like 26pts out of the next ten matches to have a decent run at it and that's probably unlikely playing this way
Yeah it’s highly improbable. We need all the stars to align with injuries, key players’ form, refereeing decisions and above all Pirlo to not commit avoidable mistakes. I decide to be optimistic but I realize there is not much logic behind my optimism.

You can say Pirlo playing style isn't good enough, lack of a regista, we are lacking ideas in attack, disorganized, injuries, and all.. but we are lacking a certain tenacity, I don't remember the last time I saw a decent tackle from the mids. Bar ramsey the rest of our mids have more DM traits than attacking yet no end result even in that, too fukn soft.. Rabiot, Artur and Bent should be enough for 2 decent tackles, we are too damn tame this to me is the most alarming.

Allegri was a tactician and a good man manager but he isnt really promoting attacking football - This is why we changed.
Sarri was a - I seriously dont know what he was but I do know we had many faults in defending.
Pirlo - Pirlo is nothing as to now as he is a rookie and never coached a club before Juve. He did make our defense look better especially if you take all the latest games.
Even with Porto when we have done far worst we only conceded 1 goal (put aside stupid gifts which has nothing to do with our ability to defend)
Against Napoli we conceded from Chiellini`s elbow and not because Napoli outsmarted us and before that we kept several clean sheets IIRC.
Its our attacking play that looks ridiculous. No gameplan but pass the ball with short passing style and hope they let you in...

Next manager - Tactician is important especially in Italy as it is in its nature. Good man manager is also important but since we are looking for a more attacking style I guess Allegri wouldnt be our pick.

Gasperini is not my no`1 choice but he is probably our best fit at the moment.
I still hope for serious midfield signings and Inzaghi - I really like Lazio`s style - especially last season.

We can talk all we want about new managers, but as long as our midfield trio is Rabiot - Bentancur - McKennie, we can't expect to roll teams up. All 3 of them are as mediocre as it gets and aren't considered amongst Europe's elite CM's.

Pirlo's lack of experience becomes the scapegoat for our problems but nobody really puts the blame of Tici and the fact that our midfielders are a PSG freebie that never carried the midfield for club or country, a Boca youth player and a random American from relegation foddlers Schalke

1. Stop playing with this weird 3/4 at the back formation. Teams know that if they press all 3 CBs we literally have no passing putput and they can win the ball from us and pressure us to make mistakes

2. Let the fullbacks be fullbacks. Danilo at RCB cannot bomb forward and alexsandro cannot attack anyway. We need to play with attacking fullbacks like europian teams do.

3. Midfield is shit. Rabiot and bentancur cannot pass forward and certainly cannot cross or switch play. They both tried to switch to the left to alex sandro against porto and the number of misplaced passes was actually funny. I say a midfiled or arthur and mckennie (he can actually pass) or even fagioli.

Well when you've got Danilo, Bonucci and De Ligt back with Arthur is regista I don't see the issue but Chiellini, Demiral and Bentancur yea playing out the back is not going to work lol

I don’t think it’s any coincidence our best performances have come when we’ve been more defensively minded and played on the counter.

The attitude of the players is the main concern though. How you can approach games like they have is throughly unprofessional. Porto, Napoli, inter, fiorentina, Barcelona 1st game, Crotone, Genoa etc.

Arrogant attitudes and performances lead to what we’ve seen this season rather than player selection and tactical set up (which have both been poor also)

In the previous season we had no competition, this season we had, it was the worst possible moment for such a gamble. Pirlo knew it and decided to waste his coaching career, Possibly CR7 and Gigi's Last season with us and Juve's chance for a historic once in a lifetime streak...
Probably Agnelli promised him that he will take the responsibility only to find a knife stabbed at his back by the end of the season, just like it happened so many other times before with DD, Conte, Max etc
Agnelli is ruthless he will turn him into a scapegoat...
