It was still a hybrid formation but there seemed more structure today. Also goes to show what a massive difference having determination makes to our performance. We were first to every ball and we got the rub of the green because of that.

Buffon by the way was absolutely instrumental tonight. He was completely orchestrating that defence, you could hear him constantly shouting at the end. What a leader.

mckennie and buffon were very good calls. zero weak performances, solid setup too, we were much more compact that during the home game vs barca. our 3rd good game after samp and cagliari. let's see whether we can keep it up until the christmas break.

It feels like a functional team when you play guys on their roles, specially LWB and RWB.. Sandro/Frabotta and Cuadrado/Chiesa. I'm hoping Chiesa could adapt to that role.

But it was deflating when again he subbed Cuadrado not for Chiesa, but for Bernardeschi. Bad sign.

Anyway, it was encouraging to see a traditional 352 shape. Hoping he sticks with what works

Edit: just adding that can't see this 352 working without McKennie. Other 4 midfielders are bland, always need a workhorse. Best call of the game by Pirlo

Impressive performance. The major takeaway from this match is the intensity and concentration shown by the entire team. Something we didn't see in many games this season. That's more like it from Andrea.
