it will be dybala pressing more and trying to win the ball back like ramsey did today.
dybala needs to learn to press more and do more for the team.
Ya but when Frabotta went to LB, we needed a player at LM, so that was Ramsey. We didn't see it much because we dominated but against a good team, we will have to eventually set up our defensive shape when they have the ball.

Ramsey-McKennie-Rabiot-Cuadrado. So I'm not sure how Ronaldo or Dybala does that.

It could be Kulu, yes. But then you lose the goal he scored today from the right side.

I think against small teams, Pirlo can be aggressive with the formation. From what I saw today, Ramsey has to play that position though against a real team. 6 key passes and 6 tackles, I mean... wtf..

Yep. Needs to be one of Ramsey/Kulu/Berna for that role.

we will see.

this kind of high pressing is used by all the big teams. liverpool with their fullbacks as wingers, bayern last year with high defence line etcetc....

The key is for the 2 AMs to run as much as Ramsey/Kulu did. It will be tough to replicate that with our other options.

Klopp has actually moved away from full on gegenpressing in the past couple of seasons. That move has served Liverpool well with two trophies as a result.

you people overcomplicating things.

we are lacking attacking firepower. we need 2 players for attack to compete in 3 competitions.

doesnt matter how the attack will look. your team will look more promising when you sub dybala out at 75 mins to bring in dzeko as opposed to bringing in berna

Ramsey was a machine from 2013-2016.
Iirc he averaged like 2.5-3.5 tackles per game and alongside his 2-ish key passes/game and 5-10 goals and 5-10 assists per season playing either as attacking mid or mezzala type. Injuries really messed him up, but if our new fitness staff can keep him mostly healthy and he can get back to that kind of player like we saw today, it would be huge for the style of play Pirlo seems to be going for.
