@s4tch I'm basically interpreting the statement released as the club distancing from individuals who basically falsely reported financials. Did Agnelli and his cronies commit fraud?

Again how to prove such things in court unless there is something related to accounting issues.
Exactly, its basically unprove-able. And any chance the government had to prove something was lost when they were found to be using Transfermarkt prices as the basis of their entire argument.

While it is scummy accounting, its not illegal on a good (players) that don't have exact prices. Again, I think its more the Board looks at us blowing through money and sees all this bad press with Juventus and Agnelli (he's a face of the Super League) and says "and you're fucking cooking the books? Just go away"

He helped two newspapers merge after working for Fiat.
Does he like Italian managers? likelihood of not appointing Conte? likelihood of getting rid of Allegri and bringing some hip exciting manager who has identity?

Badass Allegri it's time to go.
Technically Allegri is part of the management, now his best friend Agnelli is no longer here to protect him Allegri is basically living off borrowed time unless he performs a miracle this second half of the season.

Fixing european football is important but it shouldn't be at the risk of us. We're already in a perilous position having to face the growing riches of the EPL. To put the club at risk is just too much.

And the club overspent. It's as simple as that. The club is blowing through money under Agnelli. Bye bye.
There will be no fixing of European football. The bodies that govern football have no reason to give up on their leading positions and guess what? They have buddies everywhere, from EU to the sheiks. Too many powerful people are on their side for a few runaway clubs to make a change. It's a lost cause for which the club is paying a premium price in all competitions, those who watch games know what I mean.
Besides, it's always have been in fashion to fuck Juventus but this is just fueling the fire. FFS we haven't even recovered from Calciopoli yet, at least considering where the club was in the ladder before the scandal.

Overspending is an obvious issue for me as well, agreed 100%.

I do think something serious has happened for him to resign as Agnelli looks like the most stubborn person to do so unless pushed.

Nah, thats a non-statement. If anything, I feel more confident we're not going to be massively punished for it after reading the press release.
Obviously, they wouldn't admit it publicly because then the authorities would have a free run at the club and it's finances. But unibrow did something that caused Exor to tell them to fvck off ASAP. Typically in fraud cases, firms fire the offenders to create as much distance to limit the blast radius of legal implications. This could basically be just that.

Imagine if we spent half the money we did but instead bought players like the Red Bulls clubs do. We'd have no issues.

Yeah but we are talking about Italy here, I wouldn't be surprised if we're told to prepare a defence for a case in 2 weeks again and take it up the arse. Ultimately its the same cunts (elkann's) who still remain and slept with the enemy at calciopoli too.
