We haven't done that even with Rugani, Chiellini and Benatia out. We still have Liechsteiner, Evra and Dani Alves who can cover the wide CB position.

It's a subtle performance decrease, it's been some time now. Doesnt qualify as age decline yet, but could be a sign. Him and Chiellini havent been at the expected standard, that's for sure. But they have also been exposed because of poor defensive input from the new midfield.

Not only poor defensive input from the midfield, but also the inability for the midfield to hold on to the ball and having to pass to the CBs. They have had to take on extra playmaking/possesion duties in addition to more defending duties because of the SETUP..when you play Cuad as wingback expecting to create offense, (which is the dumbest most unnecessary shyit I've seen from Max, instead of picking a more efficient system) you are overworking the CBs as well, more shuffling to cover and more energy spent..its not only how much you run its also the energy you spend..had our 3 CBs been anything other than WC we'd have failed completely with this setup, each of our CBs is on max overload no pun intended
