Is this why they included Molinaro, Grygera and Marchionni in our long term plans?
That would make sense, if we cant have the starters they have, lets try to get some better subs than they do!! Then, next year when we meet them, we can boast,

"you might have beaten us 4-1 but... our subs are betters than your subs..."

grygera and Marchionni are subs arent they? Grygera is behind Zebina (I know Zebina is never available but that was the plan was it not?) and Marco is behind Camo and even Salihamidzic. Molinero is a starter but when DC is fit the two of them compete for the spot and before DC got injured he was playing well.

It is true we need to address defence but I think the club will do that as well as bring in top attackers. We have money and we do tend to make the odd free pick up too. Mellberg worked out great so maybe we can try for Eboue this time?

Thats not fair, we have played some tough matches, but we havent been humiliated by 3 goal difference for some time, in fact we havent lost more than one goal, so even if we would meat Man utd now, i dont think the result would be that bad.

Maybe if you have provided some suggestions for Molinaro's replacement, I will be convinced that we could have spent money on the LB department.

Grygera is crap in Juventus but he does not play bad for Czech Republic. I do not know what happened to him but he definitely plays a sub role, and so is Marchionni. Manninger does not become a first team member just because he played for months while Buffon is injured. If Camo and Zebina are available they would be starters.

Have Camo and Zebina been available?

Hell Jonny Evans is better than Molinaro, so is Riisse, but as you guys say he has improved. If that is the case and you're options at rb are between an invalid and Grygera then you might want to invest in a new right back. You can have a good left back and a bad right back or a bad left back and a good right back as Man U have show us. But you can't have two crappy wing backs and expect glory. It doesn't work that way, and you have to invest in one or the other.

I think all you guys can forget about other lineups than 442. Ranieri will not change this.

It seems that juve are willing to trade a lot of their co-ownerships. Noverino, Palladino and Criscito, this might give one more quality player.

Somebody mentioned VDV, well then i say go for Cassano. Hes too much of a
crybaby.

I dont quite understand the bashing of Marchionni, he is a sub, and the games i saw he played decent.
Ive heard rumours about Genoas Bochetti, but he is a CB isnt he? any comments on that?

I am not accusing those cheap/free players for their performances.
I did not expected anything better from them. You have to understand that, my criticism is not aimed at those players performances.
They are not in fault when it as asked from them, more than they can possibly deliver.
Nocerino was an ok DM subber, we shouldnt ask him to be a starter at this point and we shouldnt ask him to be a creative MR at any time. That was our mistake, not his!
We shouldnt ask from Tiago, after a season sitting on the bench, doing nothing to cover up defensively for the inabilities of our defenders.
Thats not his role, thats beyond him and it is normal he couldnt adapt to that role.
We should ask from Grygera to support our strikers effectively and do the job of a right winger, when he can barely do his job defensively.

We brought him for nothing, his was supposed to be just a sub. He never had the potential to become a quality starter. It is our fault we expect miracles from him and keep insisting with him as a starter for a second year. We are supposedly building a competitive team, with top class players at every line and yet, we stack up all those positions with mediocre cheap/free material, whilst we invest our limited resources on the positions we already have top quality material as starters and some times, even decent alternatives too.
Thats what i m arguing for the past 3 seasons. I am pleased with the performances of these mediocre players, because i never expected anything more from them.
But i expected from our board to bring others, not so limited players, players with the potential to become a starter in a competitive team.
We dont have the luxury to afford quality subbers atm, we should fill those position with youngsters and cheap free players and we steadily make an addition of a couple of quality starters per season. But we instead buy very expensive subbers and bring cheap/free starters!
Hopefully this will explain my perspective here, i am not arguing performances here, but potential, balance, optimization and vision!

Thats our board's objectives/duties! They need to provide the optimal condition for our team to flourish, PRE-SEASON!!
What happens mid-season is not their jurisdiction, they would only interfere on crisis situations. Thats why the should think ahead, plan carefully and act decisively and with precision!
At this particular moment, their task is too important, because we need to be optimal, in order to recover our calciopoli "injuries". We cannot afford/tolerate mistakes, side steps and experiments.
If their dont feel fit for the job, they ought to quit, we have now the time, prestige and income to replace them with better personnel!!
But you base your plans on those performances don't you? So they are not mutually exclusive. Free or not, he didn't perform this bad last year as he is considered the weakest link.

You mention that Nocerino is an "OK" DM sub but we have improved on that as now we don't have that gap anymore. All our DM/CMs play well together and we are not even thinking about anyone in that position.

I understand your view but you need to look at the big picture here and consider a lot of factors. I would like to replace all the average players with world class ones but it takes time and we just bring in many players in one season and wait for them to gel together.

'No signing is impossible' for Juve Thursday 26 March, 2009

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus chief Giovanni Cobolli Gigli claims “no signing is impossible” this summer, but he's keeping his cards close to his chest.

The Old Lady look likely to finish second in Serie A this season as Inter have a commanding seven-point advantage.

If the Bianconeri are to overhaul their rivals next term they will need to invest heavily in the summer and they have been linked with Diego, Antonio Cassano and David Silva recently.

“Jean-Claude Blanc has always stated that our objective is to find a replacement for Pavel Nedved,” Cobolli Gigli told Sky Sport Italia.

“Nothing is impossible, but I can't reveal any names. We will balance the books this year thanks to the Champions League, which is important for the future of the club.

“It's obvious that there will be some action in the transfer market, but there will be no major departures.

“Every club has to find the right balance between income and expenditure.”

The Juve supremo concluded by discussing this season's Scudetto race.

“We have a 30 per cent chance of winning the title,” he calculated. “We still have a direct confrontation with Inter and even though our chances are quite slim we still believe.”

LOL I like his teeth

If no signing is impossible than Ribery certainly seems like the most outrageous then shit, we might just make a move for him!
