Fun fact - since Deflategate started, Patriots have won 2 SBs, while the Ravens and Colts have failed to make the play-offs and Ryan Grigson got canned :D

- - - Updated - - -

Yet he is in the Hall of Fame, and Jimmy Johnson isn't. That's all you really need to know.
Well, NFL's "knight in shining armor" Peyton Manning had a lot of good words to say about righteous Tony Dungy. Not the case with Jimmy J or Flores.

Watch Reggie Wayne get voted into the HOF long before TO too ...

The difference between the Flores and Johnson though is that JJ built that Cowboys Dynasty with his trades and drafting. Flores had Al Davis. Not trying to discount Flores, but Johnson literally did everything for the Cowboys.

And of course it makes perfect sense that the #2 all time leader in reception yards not be in the Hall of Fame. Because all of the other members are Choir boys.

Was just giving Flores as another example of a coach, who deserves to be in the HOF before Dungy ever got in. Jimmy J not being in is even worse, though.

49ers hire Martin Mayhew as senior personnel executive. With him and Adam Peters, Lynch is putting together a pretty impressive personnel staff.

There is a new mock draft showing Marshon Lattimore going at #2.

Finally, a mock draft that doesn't have Trubisky or Watson going at #2.

I'd still love us to trade the pick down and stock up. I caught a bit of what Shanny had to say at the press conference, growing up with the 49er greats and wanting to bring us back there. Nice sentiment, hopefully this is the start of something special.

What's your opinion on him calling the offensive plays?

I have no problems with it at all in regards to calling the offensive plays. People want to throw all of the blame on him for Super Bowl LI, but no one was complaining after three quarters when they had a 19 point lead. He stuck with what got the team there in the first place. And in all honesty, Freeman whiffing on that block of Hightower was one of the main turning points. Ryan doesn't fumble that ball, it could have been a whole different ballgame.

Ryan should've been more aware and gotten rid of it

Kyle S calling the plays may be putting a bit too much on his plate, a bit too early. It's natural for someone who's been an OC most of his NFL career to want to do exactly that but he has no experience being a HC and dealing with all the extra responsibilities that come with that role in preparation for and during a game.

That game was lost purely because of Shanahan's play calling. Maybe it was a good learning experience but that was some atrocious shit from him.

And 4 consecutive defensive holding penalties on the Falcons had nothing to do with it?

Freeman's whiff on Hightower that gave him a free lane to Ryan, causing the fumble and giving the Patriots the ball at the 30?

In other words, Shanahan should have taken the ball out of the league MVP's hands with a 19 point lead, and instead run the ball up the middle without their primary up the middle running back, who went out with an injury.

I'm not trying to absolve Shanahan of the blame, but it is crazy to say that he is the only reason that the Falcons lost.

And why is Dan Quinn seemingly getting a pass in all of this? As the head coach, shouldn't he have told Shanahan to tone it down if he thought that he was being too aggressive?

He should've known his defense was getting tired and gotten the hint from all those penalties they were committing. Just get 3 points and put the game to rest instead of getting cute with it. Sure, I have the advantage of hindsight but that was the biggest lead to blow, especially for a Super Bowl,

He got outcoached and outclassed. It could very well be a great thing for the Niners as he has to have definitely learned something from it, but that loss is all on him.

And yeah, Dan Quinn is also to blame. But as we said, Shanahan was calling the plays.

So true, one of the best evah.
Would definitely be the best if he was on better teams. Randy Moss is the only one better.

TO was fucking unplayable.

And I misspoke in my post.

That 22nd highest cap hit is not for the entire NFL.

He has the 22nd highest cap hit among QUARTERBACKS. The one player in the NFL who would rightfully deserve a 50 million per year contract, has a lower cap hit than the likes of Alex Smith and Jay Cutler.
